  • Patent number: 11966961
Abstract: A service provider may receive item price information and/or point of sale (POS) transaction information from a plurality of merchant devices associated with a plurality of merchants. The service provider may categorize the plurality of merchants according to the types of items offered by the respective merchants, and may further categorize the merchants according to the locations at which they conduct business. The service provider may subsequently determine a price recommendation or other pricing information for a particular item offered by a particular merchant. A merchant device of the particular merchant may present the pricing information in a user interface that enables the merchant to view projected sales at various different price points. Further, the merchant may be able to specify one or more factors used for determining the recommend price, such as a desired business model, a desired clientele, a desired profit margin, or the like.

  • Patent number: 11961055
Abstract: Disclose herein are systems and methods for enabling a payer with an account at a financial institution (e.g., a bank) to send a payment to a payee by submitting, via a financial application of the financial institution, the payee's identifier, where the funds associated with the payment are transferred from a financial account associated with a third-party, remote computer system of a payment service (“PSS”), directly to the payee substantially instantaneously upon the payer's request. The payment request is processed based on communications between a computer system of the financial institution (“financial institution system”), a mobile financial application installed on the payer's mobile device, and the PSS. The PSS identifies the payee's financial account and executes, or triggers execution of, the transfer of funds. The PSS further requests a reimbursement of the payment from the payer's financial account to the financial account associated with the PSS.

  • Patent number: 11948140
Abstract: In some examples, a payment processing system may receive an indication of a transaction between a customer and a merchant. The payment processing system may generate a notification indicating completion of the transaction between the customer and the merchant. Further, the payment processing system may transmit the notification to a device associated with the customer. For instance, the notification may include an offer for the customer to receive financing from the payment processing system for the transaction or a future transaction. The payment processing system may receive an acceptance of the offer to receive financing, and may transmit an instruction to cause a financed amount to be provided according to the acceptance of the offer.

  • Patent number: 11922495
Abstract: Techniques described herein are directed to an intelligent lending platform in which a payment service may receive respective lending queries from users, analyze the queries using a machine-learned model and, if the queries are denied, output respective signals indicating that the respective queries are denied and the reasons for each respective decline. In some instances, the described techniques analyze data associated with each respective denied query to determine high-level reasons for the decline and may present these reasons in a manner that is both understandable to and actionable by the respective user. That is, the techniques may automatically identify the most significant reasons why a particular lending query was denied and may automatically output these reasons to a user in a manner that the user is able to easily comprehend and act upon to increase the chance of receiving an approval upon a subsequent lending query.

  • Patent number: 11922396
Abstract: Techniques described herein enable a payment service to generate and send different instructions regarding a wireless payment reader based on a current state of the payment reader. For instance, a wireless payment reader may include a quick-response (QR) code that uniquely identifies the payment reader relative to other payment readers. Further, the QR code may embed information identifying the wireless payment reader and/or a uniform resource locator (URL) pointing back to a payment service configured to process payment transactions with the wireless payment reader. In response to receiving an indication of a scan of the QR code, the payment service may determine whether the payment reader is currently paired. If not, then the payment service may generate and send pairing instructions to enable pairing with the payment reader. If so, then the payment service may generate and send payment instructions to cause the device to engage in a payment flow.

  • Patent number: 11922397
Abstract: A card reader includes a digital connector such as a Universal Serial Bus (USB) plug or an Apple® Lightning® plug. The digital connector includes a corresponding connector interface, which provides voltage to at least a card reader interface and an integrated circuit (IC) of the card reader. The card reader interface outputs an analog transaction information signal upon reading the card. The IC generates a digital version of the analog transaction information signal, encrypts the digital version, converts that into an analog audio signal. The audio signal can then be sent to the connector interface, which converts it into a digital signal such as a USB or Apple® Lightning® signal that is sent by the digital connector to a mobile device. Alternately, the audio signal can be sent to a microcontroller that converts the audio signal to a digital format such as USB, and then to the digital connector.
