Abstract: Embodiments herein provide an involute slicer having a body portion and a blade coupled to the body. The involute slicer may further include an anvil to provide structural support to a workpiece. The blade may rotate about an axis. As the blade rotates, the blade may pass next to the anvil, thereby cutting the workpiece. The blade may include a cutting edge with a radius that increases from a proximal end to a distal end of the cutting edge. For example, the cutting edge may have an involute shape. The involute shape of the cutting edge provides a radially expanding cutting edge as the blade is rotated. In some embodiments, the blade may include a plurality of cutting edges, such as two cutting edges.
Abstract: A hard-faced cutting blade and hard-facing method is provided. A hard-facing material is applied to a cutting edge of a cutting blade such that a heat-affected transition zone may be created between the base metal and the hard-facing material. The heat-affected transition zone may create a sufficient bond to help resist delamination and flaking of the hard-facing material from the base metal.
Abstract: Embodiments herein provide systems, devices, and methods for splitting logs, wood, and other materials. A splitting device safety feature is disclosed, the safety feature comprising a safety locking mechanism that generally requires operation or activation by at least one hand of a user and an activation mechanism which generally requires activation or use with the other hand of a user. Both mechanisms are required to be activated, each by at least one hand of a user, in a simultaneous manner in order to activate at least some features. For example, a safety lock out mechanism is provided that prevents or blocks the activation of the device from initiating log splitting processes. Therefore, two distinct features requiring the use of at least one hand of a user are required to be activated or operated in order to perform log splitting functions.
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide an aggregate cutting saw chain having a pitch in the range of approximately 0.440 to approximately 0.450. Embodiments also include tie straps and/or other components having fluid distribution features.
Abstract: Embodiments provide various components of a chain saw, including saw chain elements, sprockets, and other fixtures, that may facilitate sharpening of cutter links during operation. In various embodiments, the components may increase stability during sharpening, provide nose mounted sharpening fixtures, and/or facilitate the resizing and/or reshaping of a sharpening element.
Abstract: Various embodiments may include a lawn mower blade having a central portion configured to be mounted to an axis of a rotary lawn mower. The blade may further include at least one air lift disposed on an inner portion of the blade, between the central portion and an end portion. The end portion adjacent the air lift may be substantially flat (e.g., flat over a width of the blade). The air lift may angle upwardly from the cutting plane as the air lift moves away from the cutting edge.
Abstract: A rectangular counter knife (1) with a larger diameter hole (1-B), the counter knife has (1) two lateral, longitudinal, parallel, rectangular and vertical walls (1-C) inferiorly forming a rectangular recess (1-D), the two rectangular, inferior and transversal guides (2-B) of the rotating disk (2), support the rectangular knife (1), adjusting a hex-nut (4) in a larger diameter hole (2-C), coincident to the hole (1-B), receiving these holes on inferior-superior direction (1-B,2-C), a hex-head screw (5) initially by-pass one of the two holes (6-A) centralized along one rectangular knife (6)with two side cutting edges (6-B) and their ends have (6-C), a constructive variant comprising a rectangular knife (7) with a longitudinal, central and oblong opening (7-A), with two central, opposite and semi-circular projections (7-A1) forming a circular central opening in the middle of the knife; the rectangular knife (7) has two side cutting edges (7-B) and two cutting edges on the ends (7-C).
