  • Patent number: 11149466
Abstract: A padlock configured to be locked and unlocked by a key includes a key-retaining cover. The padlock includes a lock body having an internal cavity with a locking mechanism received therein. The locking mechanism is a linear lock configured to receive the key through a keyhole to lock and unlock the padlock. A direction of insertion of the key into the locking mechanism is parallel with a direction of displacement of a plurality of tumblers in the locking mechanism thereby creating an outward ejection force on a fully-inserted key. The cover is disposed on the locking mechanism proximate the keyhole. The cover is configured to retain the key in position relative to the locking mechanism against the outward ejection force after the key is received in therein.

  • Patent number: 11086352
Abstract: A lockout device includes a plurality of rigid panels and a flexible body extending along an insertion axis which has, on one axial end thereof, a selectively closeable opening. The rigid panels are affixed to sidewalls of the flexible body with the rigid panels being positioned about the insertion axis. When the selectively closeable opening is opened, the flexible body and the plurality of rigid panels collectively define an interior volume for reception of a pendant control or other terminally-positioned electrical structure on a cord through the selectively closeable opening. When the selectively closeable opening is closed around the cord from which the pendant control or other terminally-positioned electrical structure extends, the pendant is secured in the interior volume and use of the pendant is inhibited by the plurality of rigid panels of the lockout device.

  • Patent number: 10726214
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention provide for storing a unique identifier for an RFID tag associated with, and affixed to, an asset. An RFID reader, coupled to a server computer through a network, executes firmware instructions causing the reader to receive a transmission from a server computer to run a customizable software with programmable logic at the reader. The reader then recognizes the tag according to its signal strength, and determines a tag state for the tag according to a state machine in the customizable software. If the tag state changes, the reader publishes the tag state and transmits it to the server computer using a low bandwidth solution.

  • Patent number: 10633156
Abstract: A group lock box includes a box body and a door in which the door is shaped to have a recess that extends into an internal volume of the box body. The recess permits unique user locks that secure the door to the body to be partially received in the recess, which can make the locks not project as much from the outside of the box, thereby placing the locks closer to the center of gravity of the box. Among other things, this can make carrying the box with locks attached less unwieldy and can slim the overall profile of the group lock box with locks attached.

  • Patent number: 10605802
Abstract: A saturation indication system includes a sorbent body with a film backing being irreversibly bonded to the sorbent body. A universal indicating ink formulation is at least partially coated onto the film backing such that the ink formulation is disposed between the film backing and the sorbent body. The universal indicating ink formulation includes a resin and a dye dispersed in the resin. The dye is configured to indicate a state of saturation of the sorbent body, with the resin and the dye being soluble in a plurality of categories of sorbates consisting of hydrophobic sorbates, hydrophilic sorbates, neutral sorbates, and amphiphilic sorbates.

  • Patent number: 10569399
Abstract: A wire sleeve hand application tool includes a handle and a plurality of mandrels received in the handle and being selectively extendable from an axial end of the handle. Each of the mandrels are biased into a retracted position in which an entirety of the respective mandrel is received in the handle. Each of the mandrels are further axially extendable to an extended position in which an axial tip and a portion of the respective mandrel extends from the axial end of the handle while an opposite axial end of the respective mandrel remains supported within the handle. An extended mandrel may be used to insert a wire sleeve or tubular marker onto a wire or other elongate member.

  • Patent number: 10460544
Abstract: A lockout/tagout or smart isolation device includes a wireless link, a non-volatile memory, and a controller in communication with the wireless link and the non-volatile memory. The wireless link is in selective communication with a wireless identification device, such as a keycard, carried by a user. The controller is programmed to receive a signal from the wireless link and write usage information about the device to at least a portion of the non-volatile memory such that the portion of the non-volatile memory storing the usage information cannot be erased or re-written thereby securely storing this usage information. This lockout/tagout or smart isolation device may be standalone or be part of a system that may potentially serve as part of a facility-wide safety system (for example, networked or in communication with a SCADA system).

  • Patent number: 10431401
Abstract: A device and related method temporarily restrict use of a control via one or more of lock out and tag out. The device includes a first and second portion. The first portion has a passageway adapted for the reception of a tie that extends through the first portion along a distance of passageway extension. The second portion has a tang and is movable relative to the first portion to move the tang transversely across the passageway relative to the direction of passageway extension to toggle the device between an opened position and a closed position. A tie may be received in the passageway and the reception of this tie in the passageway may prevent the device from being moved from the closed position back into the opened position due to inability of the tang of the second portion to be moved past the tie in the passageway of the first portion.
