  • Patent number: 9958836
Abstract: A dye-based, multilayer time-indicating label without initial gray time comprises a multilayer first part and a multilayer second part. The first part comprises a topsheet in contact with an enhancement layer and an optional reference layer, and the enhancement layer is in contact with a timing layer. The second part comprises a dye layer, an optional dark layer, and a substrate layer. The timing layer and the dye layer are separate from one another, and are optionally protected by one or more release liners. To activate the indicator, the timing and dye layers are separated from the one or more release liners and then joined to one another.

  • Patent number: 9944422
Abstract: A sleeve applicator machine is used to remove and open a sleeve from a carrier for application of the sleeve around an elongated object such as a wire. A mandrel is inserted into an opening of an unopened sleeve while the sleeve is still supported by the carrier. Once the mandrel is inserted into the sleeve, the mandrel is lifted to separate the unopened sleeve from the carrier. While still on the mandrel, the sleeve (which is now in a semi-opened state) is positioned between a separable pair of sleeve-opening dies in which the dies are in an opened position. The dies are closed or brought together around the sleeve and mandrel to compress the sleeve to a fully open state. At this point and with the dies holding the sleeve open, the mandrel may be withdrawn from the sleeve and a wire or other elongated object inserted into the opening of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 9800744
Abstract: Systems and methods create labels and include a mobile device including communication circuitry, an imaging device, an object recognition application, and a label creation application. A label printer includes printer memory and printer communication circuitry. The object recognition application is configured to analyze an image of a device taken by the imaging device and generate device data for the device in the image. The label creation application the uses the device data to automatically populate at least a portion of a label data entry screen. Once the label data entry screen is populated, the label creation application creates a print job and, via the mobile device communication circuitry, communicate the print job to the label printer to print at least one label sized specifically for the device.

  • Publication number: 20170140596
Abstract: A lockout/tagout or smart isolation device includes a wireless link, a non-volatile memory, and a controller in communication with the wireless link and the non-volatile memory. The wireless link is in selective communication with a wireless identification device, such as a keycard, carried by a user. The controller is programmed to receive a signal from the wireless link and write usage information about the device to at least a portion of the non-volatile memory such that the portion of the non-volatile memory storing the usage information cannot be erased or re-written thereby securely storing this usage information. This lockout/tagout or smart isolation device may be standalone or be part of a system that may potentially serve as part of a facility-wide safety system (for example, networked or in communication with a SCADA system).

  • Patent number: 9267613
Abstract: A valve lockout device includes a body having a mount portion that defines a passageway. A cover positioned adjacent to the body defines a cover portion adjacent the mount portion thereby inhibiting access to the passageway in the mount portion. A position control arm extends through at least one of the body and cover, the position control arm defines a valve engagement portion and an adjustment portion. A lock aperture is formed in at least the other of the body and cover through which the position control arm extends. An adjustment member is positioned adjacent at least one of the body and the cover, the adjustment member defines an adjustment member aperture aligned with the lock aperture and is configured to engage the adjustment portion of the position control arm. Coupling the lock aperture and the adjustment member aperture inhibits relative movement of the body, cover, and adjustment member.

  • Patent number: 9247915
Abstract: A radiography comfort device may be selectively attached to a panel of a medical imaging device. The radiography comfort device includes a woven microfiber fabric and a first adhesive that are both radiolucent. The woven microfiber fabric has a first surface and a second surface on opposing sides of the woven microfiber fabric. The first adhesive is laminated to the second surface of the woven microfiber fabric. When the radiography comfort device is attached to the panel of the medical imaging device using the first adhesive, the first surface of woven microfiber fabric is presented for contact by tissue of an individual being imaged. Further, a pad can be laminated to a portion of the periphery of the fabric to provide an edge cushion when the comfort device is attached to the panel.

  • Patent number: 9221282
Abstract: A media cartridge is disclosed for insertion into a cartridge receptacle of a printer. The media cartridge includes a cartridge, housing having one or more shifting ribs on the cartridge housing. At a position of initial insertion of the media cartridge into the cartridge receptacle, the shifting ribs are configured to center a length of media and an ink ribbon of the media cartridge between a print head and a platen roller in the cartridge receptacle. As the insertion of the media cartridge into the cartridge receptacle continues, the shifting ribs shift the length of media and the ink ribbon toward one of the print head and the platen roller.
