Abstract: A dry shaving apparatus includes housing structure, a drive mechanism in the housing structure; at least two elongated cutter heads (SK1, SK2) that extend in longitudinal directions essentially parallel with each other, each cutter head comprising an outer cutter and an inner cutter and the two cutter heads being movable relative to and essentially parallel with each other. A further cutter head (SK3) is arranged intermediate the two cutter heads (SK1, SK2) so as to be pivotal about an axis (Z) extending parallel with the longitudinal directions of the two elongated cutter heads (SK1, SK2).
Abstract: The invention is directed to an epilating appliance for the removal of human body hairs which is adapted to be held in a user's hand and guided over the sections of the skin to be treated. The epilating appliance includes a cylinder rotary about a center axis, the cylinder periphery being formed by at least one group of relatively fixed blades and at least one group Of relatively movable gripping elements. The blades and the gripping elements of a group are arranged adjacent to each other at least in pairs, and the groups are in successive arrangement on the cylinder when viewed in a direction of rotation of the cylinder. The gripping elements are adapted to approach each other and recede from each other at least in pairs, closing and, respectively, opening a gripping aperture in the process. Adjacent blades combine to form a groove of a width tapering in wedge or funnel shape, with at least one groove end section of reduced groove width being associated with one gripping aperture each.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a hand-held hair dryer including a housing (10) which is comprised of a handle (12) and an air-moving outer tube (14); the outer tube (14) possesses an inlet port (16) and an outlet port (18) for an air stream, and the housing accommodates a heater and a fan generating and heating the air stream. Arranged in the outer tube (14) is an inner tube (42) receiving at least the heater. In this arrangement, the inner tube (42) is manufactured from a material having a higher thermal stability than the outer tube, and the inner tube (42) terminates flush with at least the outlet port of the outer tube (14) or projects beyond the outlet port of the outer tube (14) in the direction of flow (64). A hair styling implement as, for example, a nozzle (44), a diffuser or the like, is attachable to the inner tube (42).

Abstract: A dry shaving apparatus includes a housing, at least one short-hair cutter, a long-hair trimmer that is pivotally-mounted to the housing such that the long-hair trimmer can pivot into and out of an operating position, an electric drive mechanism which during operation drives said short-hair cutter and said long-hair trimmer, a pivotally-mounted lever, a control rod, and a single control switch mechanism which during operation moves the long-hair trimmer into and out of the operating position and turns the electric drive mechanism on and off, the control switch mechanism being coupled to the long-hair trimmer by the pivotally mounted lever and the control rod and having an ON position and a first and second OFF position. The control switch mechanism in the first OFF position deactivates the long-hair trimmer and maintains the long hair trimmer in the operating position.
Abstract: The invention is directed to an electrical device in which an electrical load is powered by a battery via an electronic switching device. A display means serves the function of indicating the charge status of the battery, and a time measurement means determines the connection time of the load to the battery. Following expiration of a predetermined connection time of the load to the battery, when the display means indicates the charge status "zero", the time measurement means will disconnect the electrical load from the battery by means of the electronic switching device.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a pulsator for a hair dryer wherein the air current (2) generated by the hair dryer can be deflected as a function of time. To this end, the hair dryer has a housing accommodating a blower mechanism to generate the air current (2) and possessing an opening to discharge the air current (2). The pulsator is configured as an attachment (1) and includes an inlet opening (3) adapted to be coupled to the opening of the housing, as well as an outlet opening (4). Between the inlet opening (3) and the outlet opening (4) of the attachment (1), wall portions (7, 8, 9, 10) are provided for bounding an inner compartment (6). Captured within the inner compartment (6) is an otherwise freely movable body (13) of approximately spherical shape which can be set in orbital motion approximately transversely to the direction of the air current (2) by the air current (2).
Abstract: The invention is directed to an appliance for treating hair (1), which is comprised of a handle section (2) and a heatable hair treatment section (3). The section (3) possesses an approximately tubular bristle mounting member (4) which is assembled from two half shells (7, 8). Projecting outwardly from the half shell (7) are bristles (5), and the half shell (8) is equipped with rib members (6). The radius (R1) of the cross section of the bristled half shell (7) is smaller than the radius (R2) of the cross section of the ribbed half shell (8). These different radii (R1, R2) enable a user both to form waves with long or medium long hair and to treat short hair in the area close to the scalp. The larger radius may be used for large-volume waves in particular where long hair is involved, while the smaller radius is suitable in particular for treating short hair as well as hair in the area close to the scalp.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an electronic switched-mode power supply for supplying power to an accumulator (61), comprising a self-oscillating flyback converter having a transformer (50), a switching transistor (1) with an emitter resistor (22) and a feedback circuit (11, 27). A control circuit (St) inhibits conduction of the switching transistor (1) when the switching voltage at the accumulator (61) has reached a predetermined upper level (A). A switching arrangement (SE) lowers the upper switching voltage (A) to a lower switching voltage (B) when, with the switched-mode power supply in the pulsed mode, the ratio of the duration of oscillation pauses to the duration of oscillation bursts exceeds a specified magnitude.
