  • Patent number: 4474338
Abstract: A method of and an arrangement for wrapping a strip segment of resilient material round a take-up device having an outer peripheral surface in which the strip segment of resilient material is advanced toward the take-up device at a travelling speed which is substantially equal to the rotational speed of the outer peripheral surface of the take-up device while the front or rear end portion of the strip segment is being wrapped on the outer peripheral surface. The travelling speed is, however, determined in such a manner that a difference between the length of the strip segment and the distance around the outer peripheral surface of the take-up device therefor zero value while the intermediate portion of the strip segment is being wrapped on the outer peripheral surface.

  • Patent number: 4470937
Abstract: In a screw-type cold feed extrusion molding apparatus is provided a size control device adapted to control the sizes of extrusion molded articles through detection of the load current of the motor for driving the feed screw and take-off conveyor of the extrusion molding apparatus at speeds which vary in such a manner as to enable a molding material to be fed smoothly from the inlet toward the extrusion die of the apparatus so that fluctuations which would otherwise be caused in the sizes of the extrusion molded articles due to the presence of a molding material stagnant in the inlet of the apparatus are precluded reliably.

  • Patent number: 4465536
Abstract: For automatically feeding a rubbery strip to a tire-building drum for the production of, for example, a green tire, the rubbery strip is forwardly conveyed toward the tire-building drum until a leading end portion thereof is received on a smooth surface with one face of the leading end portion directed toward the tire-building drum so as to establish close contact between the other face of the leading end portion of the rubbery strip and the smooth surface portion throughout the width of the rubbery strip whereby the leading end portion of the rubbery strip is detachably retained to the smooth surface portion, whereupon the leading end portion of the rubbery strip is transferred from the surface portion to the tire-building drum for permitting the leading end portion of the strip to be wrapped round the tire-building drum and thereafter the leading end portion of the rubbery strip is cut from the remainder of the strip for forming a cut segment having a predetermined length, the tire-building drum being there
