  • Patent number: 10181122
Abstract: Systems and methods for mobile authentication for web payments are disclosed. In some implementations, a proxy server receives, from a computing device different from a mobile device, a request from a user to process a web payment via a payment account associated with the mobile device, the web payment being associated with an online merchant. The proxy server verifies that the mobile device is associated with the user. The proxy server transmits, to a commerce server of the online merchant, payment information for the web payment in response to verifying that the mobile device is associated with the user.

  • Patent number: 10152706
Abstract: A mobile device includes a wireless transceiver, a host processor, a secure element (SE), and a near field communication (NFC) system having an NFC transceiver and an NFC controller implementing a contactless front end. The contactless front end routes a near field communication related to a payment transaction between the NFC system and the SE without going to or from the host processor. The contactless front end routes a near field communication not related to a payment transaction, but requiring a security function, between the NFC system and the SE without going to or from the host processor. The contactless front end routes a near field communication not related to a payment transaction, and not requiring a security function, between the NFC system and host processor without going to or from the SE.

  • Patent number: 10083548
Abstract: Wireless communication takes place between a first computing device and an appliance having a data center including diagnostic data. A subset of the diagnostic data may be communicated to a first server using a communications network and in turn information associated with the subset of the diagnostic data may be communicated to a second server. The second server then provides feedback to the first server that may be at least partially communicated to the first computing device. Wireless communication may also take place between a second computing device and the appliance, the second computing device selectively receiving a different subset of the diagnostic data. Subsets of different diagnostic data from different computing devices may result in a larger subset of the diagnostic data.

  • Patent number: 10078831
Abstract: Examples are disclosed that facilitate provisioning of a toll system communication device used in an electronic toll collection system, such as EZ Pass. The toll system communication device (e.g., an EZ Pass tag) can have user credentials provided to it that are associated with a user payment account. As a user travels a toll road, the toll system communication device is interrogated at a toll booth location. In response to the interrogation, the toll system communication device provides information identifying the toll system communication device and associated user credentials. The user credentials may be obtained from or authenticated with a mobile device within close proximity to the vehicle equipped with the toll system communication device. Using the user credentials and the identifying information, a user payment account may be provisioned to pay tolls accrued by the vehicle using the toll road.

  • Patent number: 10063506
Abstract: A device may be configured to receive a message from a user device; and determine whether the message includes a parameter. When the message does not include the loop indicator parameter, the device may add the loop indicator parameter to the message to generate a first modified message, and output the first modified message toward an intended recipient of the message. When the message includes the loop indicator parameter, the device may determine whether a value of the loop indicator parameter exceeds a threshold value. When the value of the loop indicator parameter does not exceed the threshold value, the device may discard the message. When the value of the loop indicator parameter exceeds the threshold value, the device may modify the value of the loop indicator parameter value to generate a second modified message, and output the second modified message toward the intended recipient of the message.

  • Patent number: 10033880
Abstract: A system includes a wireless access network, a gateway that controls communications between the wireless access network and a packet data network, and a policy-charging-and-rule-function (PCRF). The PCRF includes a routing agent in communication with the gateway and a group of multi-media processing engines (MPEs) that are associated with the routing agent. The routing agent receives from the gateway a request to establish a session for a piece of user equipment, and selects one of the MPEs to handle the session based on an IMSI of the piece of user equipment. The routing agent maintains a table indexed by IP address, and makes an entry therein that points to the selected MPE.

  • Patent number: 9990659
Abstract: A geo-fencing system includes a plurality of beacons defining zones within a venue. The system receives a first beacon identifier from a mobile device and registers the mobile device in a first zone corresponding to the first beacon. The system causes a first menu to be displayed on the mobile device, indicating options for the first zone. In response to selection of one of the options, the system registers the mobile device as being active in the first zone. The system then receives a second beacon identifier and registers the mobile device as being in the second zone. The system also suspends the activity of the mobile device in the first zone and causes options to be displayed to continue or terminate the activity in the first zone.

  • Patent number: 9992265
Abstract: A method for updating an application program on a wireless terminal in a controlled manner is disclosed. When, a server receives an inquiry from a wireless terminal for updating an application program, the server determines whether there is an updated program available for updating the application program based on information included in the inquiry from the wireless terminal. The server also determines whether updating the application program of the wireless terminal which sent the inquiry is permitted or not at the time of receiving the inquiry based on the information included in the inquiry and criteria information stored in the server. When the server determines that updating the application for the wireless terminal is available and is permitted, the server sends information necessary for updating the application program to the wireless terminal. Then, the wireless terminal updates the application program.
