Abstract: An in vitro method for screening for candidate compounds for preventing and/or attenuating skin ageing, and/or hydrating skin, includes: a) contacting a test compound with a sample of papillary fibroblasts; b) measuring the expression of a gene selected from PDPN, CCRL1 and NTN1, in the papillary fibroblasts; and c) selecting compounds for which an activation of at least 1.5 fold of the expression of at least one of the genes is measured in the treated papillary fibroblasts compared with untreated papillary fibroblasts. Another in vitro method includes: a) contacting a test compound with a sample of reticular fibroblasts; b) measuring the expression of a gene selected from MGP, PPP1R14A and TGM2, in the reticular fibroblasts; and c) selecting compounds for which an activation of at most 1.0 fold of the expression of at least one of the genes is measured in the treated reticular fibroblasts compared with untreated reticular fibroblasts.

Abstract: The invention concerns a refill (2) intended to be inserted into a makeup case (1). The refill (2) comprises a vessel containing a liquid makeup, the vessel comprising a tank (6) comprising an open top face forming an opening for dispensing the makeup. The tank (6) is delimited by a side wall (18) in line with the opening and a bottom (22) of the tank. The refill (2) comprises an absorbent complex (7) in the tank (6). Abstract: A method for producing a nonaqueous composition for external use on the skin including a strongly hydrophilic amphiphilic solid active ingredient-surfactant complex dissolved or dispersed in an oil phase, the method including the steps of: dissolving a surfactant in an oil phase to obtain a surfactant solution; mixing the obtained surfactant solution with a strongly hydrophilic amphiphilic solid active ingredient to obtain a suspension; and allowing the obtained suspension to stand still to obtain a transparent composition. Unlike conventional methods for preparing S/O formulations, the strongly hydrophilic amphiphilic solid active ingredient can be solubilized in an oil phase without the process of emulsification and freeze drying.
