  • Patent number: 6637736
Abstract: A bearing assembly permits limited rotational movement of component parts and includes a bearing body and a deflectable rotational body attached to the component part. The rotational body is disposed at a distance from the bearing body so that the bodies conjointly define a space therebetween. An intermediate element is disposed in this space and is connected to the bearing body and the rotational body. The intermediate element includes an axial component and a radial component and these components extend one into the other to form a layer so as to prevent a direct contact of the bodies with each other even under a dynamic loading of the bearing assembly while at the same time facilitating a limited rotational movement of the rotational body and the component part relative to the bearing body.

  • Patent number: 6476702
Abstract: Actuator including a ferromagnetic jacket and at least one magnet embedded in the jacket including a length, a first end, and a second end. Each of the first and second ends of the magnet include a surface which is at least partially covered by the jacket. A ferromagnetic core comprises a length, a first collar-like protrusion, and a second collar-like protrusion. An electrically conductive coil through which an electrical current may flow is mounted to the core. The coil comprises a length. The coil is arranged adjacent the magnet and separated from the magnet by a gap. The length of the magnet is greater than the length of the coil. At least one of the coil and the magnet is movably mounted. At least one of the coil and the magnet is statically mounted. One of the coil and the magnet is capable of vibrating while the other of the coil and the magnet remains static.

  • Publication number: 20010028137
Abstract: A securing element for dampened securement of a group of components one to another and, in particular, for dampened securement of drive components of trucks, is provided and includes a housing, a support body, an deformable enclosure enclosing a fluid volume and an elastomeric load bearing body which, in one operational condition, supports the entire mass of the group of components without being operatively coupled to the support body in a manner which brings the support body into load bearing duty and which, in another operational condition, cooperatively acts with the support body. The securing element also includes a control device operable to effect a decoupling of the load bearing body and the support body from one another and operable, in another control operation, to effect a coupling of the load bearing body and the support body with one another such that both cooperate together in supporting the load.
