  • Patent number: 5787557
Abstract: A textile treatment unit comprises a belt conveyor which operates continuously, with a conveyor section, on which textile material is transported in folds. The upper side of the belt, with the folds located on it, passes over a local height deviation in the conveyor section, in the form of an elevation formed by a roller arranged below it, causing the folds to be loosened.

  • Patent number: 5786280
Abstract: Carpet material with at least a proportion of uncleaned used carpets is shredded to form a fiber-like wooly mass. The carpet material contains a thermoplastic binder with a low melting point, for example polypropylene, which can be derived from the used carpets or be added. Furthermore, a duroplastically hardening binder, for example phenolic resin, is added to the carpet material. The carpet material is compressed to form the molded part or panel with these two binders, at a temperature which lies above the plasticizing point of the thermoplastic binder, but below the plasticizing point of any other thermoplastic components of the carpet material.

  • Patent number: 5775211
Abstract: A roller has a rotary hollow cylinder through which extends a non-rotary crosshead. The hollow cylinder is supported on the crosshead by two opposite rows of hydrostatic supporting elements. When the roller is operated at particularly low linear pressures in the roll gap, a uniform linear force over the whole width of the paper web is exerted in the row of supporting elements opposite to the roll gap, causing an increase in the hydraulic pressures required in the row of supporting elements that faces the roll gap, until said pressures reach a range in which perfect operation of the supporting elements is ensured.

  • Patent number: 5768919
Abstract: A treatment device (100) for a textile web (1) comprises a drum (20), rotatable in a container (2) with a treatment liquid (4), around which the web (1) is wrapped. The ends of the drum (20) are supported on bearing plates (10) arranged near the fronts of the container (2). The bearing plates (10) are supported at the upper end on an eccentric (6), opposite the lower end of which there is a torque support (9). As the eccentric rotates, the bearing plates (10) with the drum (20) and the web (1) wrapped around it are caused to oscillate in the treatment liquid (4).

  • Patent number: 5725465
Abstract: In a "floating" roller with a fixed cross-beam and a rotating hollow roller, semicylindrical longitudinal chambers are separated and divided off by longitudinal seals and end cross-seals in the space between the crosshead and the hollow roller. At least the longitudinal chamber on the roller nip side can be filled with a compressed gas. The longitudinal seals and the end cross-seals are doubled and are made of closely juxtaposed pairs of sealing strips or. Into the spaces between the sealing strips can be introduced a sealing liquid which seals the longitudinal chambers. Sealing liquid which has penetrated into the longitudinal chambers is continuously removed.

  • Patent number: 5455992
Abstract: A widening device for increasing the width of a moving web of material comprises a rotatable profiled roller, the outer surface of which defines a plurality of radial projections and recesses distributed along the length of the roller and first and second co-operating rollers rotatable at the same speed as the profiled roller. The first and second co-operating rollers define projections and recesses complementary to those of profiled roller and define first and second treatment nips which serve to increase the width of a web of material passed therethrough. The projections on the co-operating roller defining the second treatment nip extend more deeply into the recesses of the profiled roller than do the projections on the co-operating roller which defines the first treatment nip so that the web of material is stretched gradually over two stages with the stretching effect being uniform across the entire width of the web.

  • Patent number: 5367895
Abstract: A device for applying a treatment liquid to a moving web of material such as a textile web includes a drum that is rotatable around a horizontal axis. At least one guide roller is provided for guiding the fabric web such that the web wraps at least partially around the drum beginning at a side of the drum at which the web is disposed tangentially thereto and continuing around a bottom portion of the drum. A trailing, continuous band is also provided which is closed in a liquid-tight manner and circulates in a plane that is perpendicular to the axis of the drum. The band has an outer circumferential surface that fits closely on the fabric web at a location in which the web contacts the drum. The circumferential surface of the band and drum define a nip therebetween. The band seals off the nip at its bottom. The band has web segments forming lateral sealing elements which extend from the edges of the band to project outwardly. The segments have a side abutting a contact surface formed at the rim of the drum.

  • Patent number: 5224367
Abstract: In a double belt press, in which the steel belts are supported on the back by rollers, inherent compressive stress occurs on the side of the steel belts of a double belt press that are supported on the back by rollers, resulting in an undesirable bowl-shaped deformation of the steel belts. In order to avoid this deformation, at least the side of the steel belts which faces away from the rollers is subjected to treatment by shot blasting before being installed in the double belt press.
