    Abstract: A sealing arrangement in which a rotary shaft lip seal is arranged in a housing bore hole under radial prestressing. The lip seal has a sealing lip sealingly surrounding a shaft to be sealed. The sealing lip is arranged on a first, radially inwardly pointing leg of a thrust ring made of tough material. An axially extending second leg of the thrust ring is provided with a coating of elastomer contiguous with the sealing lip on its radial exterior that is also under radial prestress when positioned against the wall delimiting the housing bore hole. A roller bearing is arranged in the radial direction between the second leg and the shaft, and the sealing lip is arranged in the axial direction on the side of the roller bearing and the first leg facing the space to be sealed.

A viscous joining compound is used to affix the tongue in place. The tongue is formed by strip-shaped tongue elements, each tongue element being joined to a frame element, wherein the adjacent ends of the tongue elements are sealingly fastened to each other by connecting corner pieces.

    Abstract: A sealing device comprises a slide ring and a counterring having sealing surfaces, the slide ring and counterring contacting one another under axial prestressing in a sealing manner and capable of rotating relative to one another, the counterring and a substantially L-shaped engaging ring being interconnected, the engaging ring being affixed to a shaft to be sealed, and the counterring and the engaging ring being sealed relatively to each other by a sealing ring. The counterring contacts a radial segment of the engaging ring and surrounds an axial segment with radial clearance, and the sealing ring is sealingly arranged, under elastic prestressing, in the gap formed by the clearance. The counterring has an inner peripheral surface which forms an angle .alpha. of about 0.5.degree. to about 60.degree. with an axis of rotation, and the radial clearance in which the sealing ring is arranged is greater on the side facing the radial segment of the engaging ring than on the side facing the slide ring.

    Abstract: A sliding ring seal includes a counter ring and an adjusting ring configured as a buttress. The counter ring and the adjusting ring are interconnected in a manner that does not allow for relative rotation, and they enclose a shaft to be sealed, also in a manner that does not allow for relative rotation. At least one sealing ring made of an elastomeric material seals the counter ring and the adjusting ring with respect to each other and with respect to the shaft. A sliding ring is joined to a housing and is sealed with respect thereto by means of at least one further sealing ring. The sliding ring is joined to the housing in an axially resilient manner that also does not allow for relative rotation. The counter ring and the sealing ring respectively include sealing surfaces that contact one another sealingly under an elastic preload. The sealing rings are arranged, sealingly and under the elastic preload, in a corresponding installation space.

The band may be bonded to crease points of the filter material. A method of manufacturing the filter cartridge includes providing the initially strip-shaped, planar filter material with pleats. The pleated strip-shaped filter material is laid out forming an unwound cone-shaped shell. A band is placed onto the crease points of one side and is bonded to the crease points. Subsequently, the filter material is bent to form a conical tube, and the tube is closed upon itself by joining the two ends together.
