  • Patent number: 5895032
Abstract: A hydraulic bearing includes a supporting bearing and a bearing member braced against each other by an essentially truncated conical elastic spring element of an elastomeric material. The spring element bounds a working chamber and a compensating chamber filled with damping fluid, these chambers being separated from one another by a dividing wall and being in fluid communication with one another via a damping channel. The elastic spring element has two compression-spring sections radially opposite one another and two push-action-spring segments radially opposite one another and the compression-spring sections. The supporting bearing radially overlaps the elastic spring element in the compression-spring sections, and the elastic spring element and the supporting bearing are interconnected by a radial surface area.

  • Patent number: 5895052
Abstract: A device for sealing the annular gap between a housing and a shaft supported in the housing. The device comprises an inner ring, an outer ring, and an elastomeric sealing member joined to the outer ring. The sealing member has three sealing lips, of which only the first abuts, under prestressing, against the inner ring. The two other sealing lips are configured in such a way that, between their outer ends and the sections of the inner ring lying opposite to their outer ends, gaps are formed which act as a contact-free sealing. In addition, a gap may be provided between a radially extending annular disk portion of the sealing member and an outer flanged section of the inner ring axially opposite the annular disk portion. That gap and the gaps at the ends of the second and third sealing lips form a labyrinth seal.

  • Patent number: 5876022
Abstract: A hydraulic bearing, having a working chamber filled with a damping fluid and a compensating chamber. The chambers are separated from one another by a dividing wall and are in fluid communication with one another via a damping channel, to damp low-frequency vibrations. • Patent number: 5868503
Abstract: A roller bearing for the radial support of two component parts, includes an inner race, an outer race and rolling elements disposal between the inner and outer races, as well as a damping layer between at least one race and one of the component parts. The outer race has an outer contour facing the component part. The component part has an inner contour that faces the outer race, and essentially corresponds to the shape of the outer contour. With respect to an outer race having a cylindrical outer contour, the outer race according to the present invention shows an increase in thickness, at least sectionally, preferably in the area of the rolling element. The outer contour is shaped such that a pendulum motion of the bearing or of the component part, with deformation of the damping layer, is limited.

  • Patent number: 5824735
Abstract: A rubber moire floor covering is disclosed. The covering is produced by continuously feeding a screw-type short extruding machine having a length/diameter ratio of 6:1 with two or three varicolored strips of vulcanizable elastomeric material. The operating temperature is between 60.degree. C. to 100.degree. C. The elastomeric material leaves the extruder via a perforated disk having 200 to 600 cylindrical bore holes 3-5 mm in diameter. Each of the resulting strands is severed to produce segments that are 1 to 2 mm thick, the formed pieces are then cooled off on a section 4 meters to 6 meters long. Subsequently, the formed pieces are allowed to fall into the roll nip of a temperature controllable two-bowl calendar. The web of material leaving the calendar is fed to a continuous vulcanization installation and leaves it as finished floor covering. The material throughput rate in this continuous process may be varied from 700 kg/h up to 1300 kg/h.

  • Patent number: 5813277
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the tensile strength of a textile fabric comprises a measuring system having electromagnet, a mass capable of being held in place by the electromagnet, a piezoelectric force sensor connected to said mass, and a rounded-off impact body. By de-energizing the electromagnet, the impact body free-falls onto the textile fabric, which is held in place beneath the impact body under tension. The impact force detected by the sensor is converted to a form with which a computer can compute the tensile strength of the fabric. A series of measurements can be made of a length of fabric advanced through the apparatus in successive stages.

  • Patent number: 5788904
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a sealing ring. A support ring is provided, and at least one pasty, magnetizable material is applied onto a side of said support ring. The material is then hardened. First and second elastomeric sealing elements are vulcanized to the support ring, such that the ring is covered by the elastomeric material of said first sealing element. The magnetizable material is then magnetized. The magnetizable material may be a paste with at least two homogeneously distributed magnetic materials. At least two magnetic materials may be applied in succession onto said support ring; in that method, the second magnetic material is not applied until after a step of hardening the first magnetic material. After said step of hardening, the support ring may be deformed and punched out.
