Abstract: A laptop computer includes a liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a host. The host has a cover and a base that snap fit with each other. The LCD device is pivotally connected to the base by a hinge. The host is easily maintained or upgraded without disassembling the LCD device, and can be directly tested after having been maintained or upgraded.

Abstract: A voice system for announcing the type of failure when the basic input/output system (BIOS) program in the computer discovers an error during start-up. The voice system includes a pre-recorded voice integrated circuit and a voice output device. The BIOS program tests a plurality of peripheral devices. When errors are found in any peripheral device, a warning signal is sent to the pre-recorded voice integrated circuit. A corresponding error signal message is looked up in the pre-recorded voice integrated circuit and then the error signal message is transferred to the voice output device. A verbal failure message is announced through the voice output device. The error signal message includes all kinds of failures recorded in voice data format.

Abstract: An information apparatus support structure is constructed to include a base carrying an input device, a first support frame pivoted with one side to the base, a foldaway stand provided at the inner side of the first support, and a second support frame pivoted to one side of the first support frame remote from the base and adapted to support the first support frame in a tilted position. The base has two pivoted clamping plates adapted to hold down the first support frame and the second support frame on the base in a stack.

Abstract: An expandable housing for a electronics device comprises two half covering bodies, which respectively have a bottom board connected with a front board, sideboard and backboard; two sides of a pivoting element are connected to the two bottom boards so as to allow the two half covering bodies to be formed a expansion state while the two bottom boards are expanded into a flat plane and to be assembled into a housing while the two bottom boards are perpendicular to each other. Thereby, the structures of the housing and the frame body can be simplified and a larger space can be obtain when the housing is expanded so that the installment and maintenance of electronics elements become more easy and convenient.

Abstract: A control apparatus comprises a control unit, a portable computer, a receiving module and a controller. The control unit includes a connector, a laser-pointer transmission circuit, a control circuit, a transmission module and a chargeable battery. A power switch button and a set of operating buttons are provided on the control unit and respectively connect the control circuit. In the portable computer, a connection socket is internally mounted to engage with the connector of the control unit when the control unit is inserted in the portable computer. The connection socket is connected to a circuit control unit of the portable computer that controls the execution of a user's command. When the control unit is detached from the portable computer, the portable computer can be remotely controlled directly by means of the control unit.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a safety switch in an electronic device comprising a seat having an opening and a trigger switch fitted in a cavity of the opening, wherein one end of a signal cable extended from the trigger switch is formed as a connector, and the signal cable sequentially run over two spaced apart cylinders disposed in the opening and passes through a gap on the bottom of the opening for exposing the connector outside the seat, such that, while a pulling force exerted on the signal cable, an additional support provided by the cylinders will prevent the pulling force from transmitting to the trigger switch along the signal cable to cause a disengagement of the trigger switch from the signal cable.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a hinge assembly for notebook computers capable of keeping a screen of a monitor connected face-to-face with a main system of the notebook, and such hinge assembly also can keep an included angle between the monitor and the main system from zero degree (i.e. closed status for stacking the monitor and the main system) to 180 degrees (i.e. horizontally aligned status of the monitor and the main system). Furthermore, the monitor can continue to be turned over until the screen of the monitor faces the back of the main system, and then further till the monitor and the main system are in the back-to-back contact with each other.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a fastening mechanism for a cover of an electronic device enclosed in a housing having a substantially parallelepiped cavity for receiving a peripheral. The fastening mechanism comprises a peripheral flange disposed around an opening of the cavity and having engagement holes and a lock thereon; and a cover shaped to fit on the opening having an upper cover plate, a lower metal plate releasably coupled to the upper cover plate, a plurality of spaced tabs disposed thereon for being snapped into the corresponding engagement holes to fasten the cover onto the flange, and a locking hole so that a turning of the lock will cause a lock member thereof to insert into the locking hole for locking the cover.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a wind guide device for a cooling fan mounted on a CPU of a computer comprising a first shroud and a second shroud. A first opening at one side of the first shroud having the fan mounted thereon is coupled to a vent opening on a housing of the computer for convection. A first opening at one side of the second shroud is coupled to a second opening at the other side of the first shroud to form an upper air passage and a lower air passage. Fins on one side of the CPU are partially enclosed by an L-shaped frame element extended from the second shroud so as to cause an air current generated by the fan to accelerate through the upper and lower air passages for cooling the CPU and other electronic elements therearound.

Abstract: A fixing structure for extension cards includes a set of extension slots, a positioning element and a resilient plate. The positioning element engages on an external side of the set of the extension slots, and the resilient plate is fixing on an internal side of the set of the extension slots. A folded edge of the resilient plate is inserted through a first mounting slot of the positioning element to firmly secure the positioning element on a computer casing. A stem of the resilient plate is pulled toward an inside of the computer casing to release the folded edge of the resilient plate from the first mounting slot of the positioning element so that the positioning element is pushed upward to disengage from the set of extension slots.

Abstract: A dual-sided heat dissipating structure for BGA package includes a step-shaped first heat dissipating member adhering to an active side of the chip and a dish-shaped perforated second heat dissipating member adhering to a non-active side of the chip so that heat generated in the chip may be dissipated more effectively. The step surface first heat dissipating member may also serve as a press mold to enable bonding of inner leads of the substrate to the bonding pads of the chip be done along with adhering of the first heat dissipating member to the chip at same process in the mean time without additional process or equipment. The perforated second heat dissipating member enables moisture escaping from the package to avoid pop corn effect resulting from IR Reflow test. The package may be made at a thin thickness and low cost.
