  • Patent number: 5417467
Abstract: A sun visor for a vehicle window, particularly a side window thereof, includes a sun visor body fastened at its top to a top profiled strip and at its bottom to a bottom support in the form of a spring bar. The bottom support is movable so as to bring the sun visor body from a collapsed non-use position to a spread out use position and vice versa. The visor body is comprised of a series of strips which together define a fan like body. A swing lever is pivoted to one end of the profiled strip and includes a guide web extending along the length of the swing lever. One end region of the bottom support for the visor body is received in a displacable manner along the guide web so that swinging of the swing lever moves the guide web which moves the bottom support to move the visor body between its use and non-use positions. The end of the bottom support away from the swing lever is fixed to the top profiled strip.

  • Patent number: 5411310
Abstract: An outer support bracket for a vehicle sun visor outer support shaft having a body with a fastening pin for installation in an opening in the vehicle body and having two arms which define an insertion opening for the outer support shaft for the visor. A cover cap installable over the fastening pin. Angle levers are positioned on the insertion end of the fastening pin, including a first leg extending for insertion into the opening and a second leg extending outward from the fastening pin, such that upon installation of the fastening pin with the first leg into the opening of the vehicle and upon the second legs contacting the body of the vehicle, the angle levers are pivoted so that the first legs lock the angle lever against removal from the opening while the second legs engage the side of the fastening pin. The cover cap is installed over the second legs to hold the second legs to the fastening pin and hold the fastening pin installed in the body opening.

  • Patent number: 5326523
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a plastic molded part. A plasticized plastic composition is fed to the open mold cavity defined between a lower and an upper mold half. At least one web and perhaps two webs of decorative material to be applied to the molded part extend across the mold cavity. The closing of the mold halves presses the plastic composition against the web or webs. There is at least one two-part clamping frame for resiliently holding the web of decorative material by clamping it outside the mold cavity, so that the web can slip with respect to the composition as the mold halves move together. One clamping frame half is developed with an immersion edge which defines a side edge of the mold cavity and with a cutting plane spaced from the immersion edge a distance sufficient that the frame half also serves as an ejector for the molded part from the mold cavity as the mold halves open apart.

  • Patent number: 5210905
Abstract: A hand grip for pivotal attachment to a surface of a body, as on a vehicle. The hand grip has a U-shaped grip body with a web joining two arms. The free end of each arm is attached on a bearing pin. The bearing pin is swingably mounted on a bearing bracket so that the grip pivots around the axis of the bearing pin with respect to the bracket. A torsion spring normally returns the grip to a position of non-use. To prevent excessive impact and resulting noise upon the return movement, a friction brake, consisting of a molding of a wear resistant viscoelastic plastic material, has a bore which receives an axial region of the bearing pin. The bore diameter is smaller than that of the bearing pin or least is of a size that permits relative movement between the molding and the bearing pin while braking the movement of the bearing pin with respect to the bracket, for slowing the return of the grip to the non-use position.

  • Patent number: 5203623
Abstract: A sun visor for motor vehicles has a trough in one large surface which supports a mirror and an illuminating device for the mirror. A swing cover over the trough exposes or hides the mirror. A light transmissive light panel in the trough is connected with the swing cover to selectively be moved over the electric illuminating device in the trough when the cover is opened and to be moved away from the illuminating device when the swing cover is closed down over the light panel. The light panel is swingably attached to the light cover and is slidingly guided in guide slots in the trough to both swing with respect to the trough and to translate with respect to the trough. A switch on the trough is activated by the translation of the light panel to turn on and off the electric illuminating device.
