  • Patent number: 6966230
Abstract: A dynamometric tool uses a four-mandrel press. The press head is provided with a specific press geometry which is predefined by the mandrels. The dynamometric tool produces a tool which can determine the actual force of compression in an easy-to-handle manner. The dynamometric tool also has two levers which are joined together and adapted to the geometry of the press head, and which interact upon a pressure sensor during compression.

  • Patent number: 6886226
Abstract: A hand-held riveting tool is driven by a battery-powered electric motor, and comprises a hydraulically-actuated riveting head, and a reciprocating hydraulic pump driven by the electric motor. The tool includes a reservoir for hydraulic fluid, the hydraulic supply line from the pump to the riveting head being connected to the reservoir by a reservoir inlet valve which is normally open to allow hydraulic fluid to flow from the supply line into the reservoir. Operation of the tool-actuating trigger firstly closes the reservoir inlet valve, and then switches on the electric motor to operate the pump. Release of the tool-actuating trigger firstly switches off the electric motor to stop operation of the pump, and then opens the reservoir inlet valve. When the reservoir inlet valve is closed by operation of the trigger, it acts as a pressure-relief valve to relieve over-pressure of hydraulic fluid.

  • Patent number: 6862793
Abstract: The invention relates to a riveting device (1) comprising a pressure pad (3) and a riveting die (4). Said pressure pad (3) and riveting die (4) can be hydraulically driven by means of a pressure pad piston (12) and a die piston (13). The aim of the invention is to further develop such a riveting device (1) in an advantageous manner. To this end, the pressure pad piston (12) and the die piston (13) are driven by the same hydraulic pressure, the effective piston area (36) of the pressure pad piston (12) being embodied in a smaller manner than the effective piston area (14) of the die piston (13).

  • Patent number: 6718870
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a hand held hydraulic pressing apparatus (1) with a hydraulic cylinder (8), in which a hydraulically actuated piston can be displaced to carry out a pressing or cutting operation. The apparatus has a piston head (5) and a piston shank (16), the piston shank (16) being connected to a tool carrier (10). The tool carrier (10) is part of an inter-changeable apparatus head (9). In order to simplify to change the apparatus head, the invention proposes, that an interchangeable apparatus head (9) has in each case a piston shank (16) with a return spring (22).

  • Patent number: 6457338
Abstract: The invention relates to a pressing tool (1) with pressing levers (2) which are connected to one another by a connecting link plate (7, 8) such that they can be rotated in a tong-like manner and each of which each provides an upper, free mouth end (14, 16), there being provided a monitoring device (13) which only allows an open position of the pressing levers (2) which is suitable for the release of a blank (42) to be achieved if a full pressing action, with a minimum closing position of the pressing levers (2) being achieved in the process, has been carried out beforehand, a mechanical, electronic or electrical sensor (15) being disposed on one of the pressing levers (2) for the purpose of checking the relative positioning of the pressing levers (2) in relation to one another. In order to achieve an improvement, it is proposed that the sensor (15) be disposed in the upper, free mouth end (14) of the one pressing lever (2).

  • Patent number: 6401515
Abstract: A method for operating a hydraulic pressing device, for example, a pipe clamping device, that includes a stationary part and a moving part. The hydraulic pressing device also includes an automatically actuating return valve. The moving part of the hydraulic pressing device is displaced relative to the stationary part until a predetermined pressure is reached. At that point, the moving part returns automatically and completely back into its initial position, which is released as a result of the predetermined pressure being reached. The moving part is biased into its initial position by means of a return spring and, on removal of the restoring force, returns automatically back into its initial, closed condition.

  • Patent number: 6276186
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a hydraulic pressuring device with a stationary part (26) and a moving part (24), whereby the moving past (24) is moved relative to the stationary part (26) until a predetermined pressure is reached. In order to operate a hydraulic pressuring device of this type, for example a cable shoe (connecting) or riveting tool pressing device, whose handling is especially improved, the invention provides that moving part (24) returns automatically and completely to the initial position thereof when a predetermined pressure is reached.

  • Patent number: 6230542
Abstract: A hydraulic apparatus for pressing or cutting workpieces, the apparatus having a mounting head for use with tools which can be moved against one another. The tools being arranged in the mounting head in a manner laterally offset from one another to allow them to move past each other. As a result of this configuration, there is provided, increased utility value, especially when using cutting tools. The tools are guided in grooves formed next to each other in the first embodiment. In this regard it is possible for a groove to be associated with each tool. In a second embodiment it is provided that the tools are guided in a common groove with additional support on opposite outer surface walls.

  • Patent number: 5924536
Abstract: In a torque-switched clutch between an input shaft and an output shaft, the clutch transferring into a release position from a positive-locking connection when a limiting torque is reached, at least one positive-locking element is connected to one of the shafts. The positive-locking element interacts with a positive-locking receiver of the other shaft. The positive-locking element is movable against a force out of a coupling position into a release position in a non-destructive manner. The positive-locking element is of latch type design and is mounted on the one shaft so as to be pivotable relative to that shaft for movement between a latch locking position and a latch overrun position.
