Abstract: A dental and surgical handpiece with disposable cartridge of the present invention includes a reusable handpiece and a disposable cartridge. The disposable cartridge contains all the major moving parts that provide torque and RPM for high speed dental drilling. The disposable cartridge detachably couples with the head of the reusable handpiece. The handpiece can be heat sterilized after the disposable cartridge is removed. The performance of the handpiece is not reduced by the sterilization since the turbine and bearings are contained in the disposable cartridge.
Abstract: A hydrogel wound dressing is provided which is clear, non greasy, water soluble and odor free. The wound dressing additionally does not exhibit any thickening properties and is of a viscosity such that it will adhere to the wound bed to facilitate natural healing yet will also be easily removable with water and will not stick to the wound or gauze, allowing for removal of bandages without tearing of delicate regenerated skin. The wound dressing also contains humectant properties such that the wound is kept hydrated to prevent any scabbing or drying out so that the wound is allowed to heal from the inside out.
Abstract: An aqueous formula is disclosed that combines a relatively low concentration of glutaraldehyde with very low concentrations of alcohol in a stabilizing alkaline buffer system. This formula is sporicidal within 10 hrs. at 20.degree. C., and bactericidal, fungicidal, tuberculocidal, and virucidal within 20 min. at 20.degree. C.
Abstract: A low odor, aqueous, quick acting room temperature disinfectant solution primarily useful for medical instruments to disinfect within a half hour or less. The composition comprises a reacting or synergistic combination of hydrogen peroxide and from about 1% to 30% by weight of a water soluble organic acid or salt form thereof with the acid preferably being selected from the group consisting of malonic and succinic acids.
