  • Patent number: 11956402
Abstract: In an example, a method includes, by one or more processors, receiving a greyscale image having a plurality of pixels, each pixel being associated with a grey level, and the greyscale image having a first number of grey levels. An order of the pixels may be determined based on the grey level. A second number of grey levels may be determined, wherein the second number of grey levels is greater than the first number, and an indication of a target number of pixels per grey level of the second number of grey levels may be further be determined. Taking the pixels in order, and based on the target number of pixels per grey level, a new grey level may be allocated to each pixel to provide the second number of grey levels. The new grey levels may be converted to a threshold of a threshold halftone screen.

  • Publication number: 20240111462
Abstract: A method for controlling a printer includes receiving a set of first variables for the printer, determining, using a machine-learning program, one or more second variables based on the set of first variables, and controlling a printer to perform a print job based on the set of first variables and the one or more second variables. The first and second variables may correspond to different types of printer settings. The machine-learning program may determine the second variables using a classifier model that may prevent partial curing or drying, print media deformation and/or other defects.

  • Patent number: 11947675
Abstract: An example computing device incudes a main processor, a management firmware subsystem, and a controller to control operation of the management firmware subsystem. The controller is separate from a main processor. A memory stores subsystem data that is useable by the controller. The computing device further includes a set of instructions that determines a manufacturing mode of the computing device. The manufacturing mode is enabled when the computing device is under manufacture or maintenance. The manufacturing mode is disabled when the computing device is under normal operation. The set of instructions further determines a manufacturing state of the subsystem data. The manufacturing state indicates whether the subsystem data is complete. In response to determining that the manufacturing mode is disabled and that the manufacturing state of the subsystem data is incomplete, the set of instructions initiates a restoration of the subsystem data from a backup of the subsystem data.

  • Patent number: 11945211
Abstract: In an example of the disclosure, first and second print jobs are received at a printer. The first and second print jobs each include production frames. The first and second print jobs are printed with a media roll change occurring during printing. A first finishing device information nonproduction (“FDIN”) frame and a second FDIN frame are printed. The first and second FDIN frames include coded information regarding the first print job and the second print job, respectively. The coded information is for reading by a scanner at a finishing device. A press calibration nonproduction (“PCN”) frame that includes a printer calibration diagnostic is printed. A scanner at the printer is caused to capture the printer calibration diagnostic. A calibration operation is performed at the printer utilizing data or attributes captured from the printer calibration diagnostic.
