  • Patent number: 9714770
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide an air conditioning unit and a ventilator. The ventilator has an impeller to draw outside air into an enclosure and cause air within the enclosure to be exhausted to the outside. The ventilator can be tied into the air conditioning unit's control system and act to supplement the cooling and ventilation needs of the space. Alternatively, the ventilator can have a separate integral control system. By having a separate control system, the ventilator can operate as a stand-alone device.

  • Patent number: 9516783
Abstract: A thermal management system for an enclosure containing electrical components includes a thermoelectric cooling unit for controlling temperature inside the enclosure and a controller for the cooling unit, the controller being configured so that it can be installed within and protected by the enclosure, rather than requiring its own separate secure enclosure. The controller includes a simplified power management circuit that uses an input quick connector that receives a first cable connector for providing power to the circuit board, and an output quick connector that receives a second cable connector for supplying power from the input quick connector to the fan of the cooling unit. This one-in, one-out arrangement allows for the elimination of multiple hard-wired cable harnesses and the corresponding connectors on the circuit boards of existing controllers. The circuit board size is reduced, and terminal blocks eliminated, so that the controller can be installed inside the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 9447629
Abstract: Embodiments provide a strip gasket with one or more adhesive strips on the gasket. The strip gasket resists stretching because a non-stretchable carrier is located within an adhesive strip on the gasket which helps prevent the gasket from being stretched. The strip gasket is also able to create a tight seal when it is installed against a desired surface. This tight seal prevents water and other particulate matter from passing around the strip gasket.

  • Patent number: 8164293
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide methods of controlling a motor, such as a servo motor. One method can include monitoring a current temperature of the motor and a power stage of the motor substantially continuously and substantially in real-time. This method can include determining optimum settings for a first time interval to remove power and the second time interval to provide power in order to deliver maximum output while remaining below the maximum rated temperature of the motor. One method can include pulsing power to the motor for a second time interval after a first time interval has elapsed and tailoring pulse shapes of the power provided to the motor for the second time interval. One method can include calculating a maximum phase current based on the rotor shaft torque for each real-time speed of the motor that correlates to the maximum allowable current draw from the power supply.
