  • Patent number: 11801527
Abstract: A nozzle applies a sealant to a target area that includes a coupling member and an elongated seam. The nozzle includes a primary portion positionable in line with the coupling member in the target area, a first secondary portion on a first side of the primary portion, and a second secondary portion on a second side of the primary portion. The primary portion is in fluid communication with one or more material sources. The first secondary portion extends from the primary portion such that the first secondary portion is configured to extend over at least a segment of the elongated seam in the target area when the primary portion is positioned in line with the coupling member in the target area. The first secondary portion has a first height, and the second secondary portion has a second height less than the first height.

  • Patent number: 11447238
Abstract: A wing of an aircraft that includes a wing leading edge, a wing trailing edge, and a wing surface defined by a wing upper surface and a wing lower surface is described herein. The wing extends from the wing root to the wingtip, and the wingtip has a wingtip chord. A winglet extends from the wingtip and has a winglet leading edge, a winglet trailing edge, a winglet inboard surface, a winglet outboard surface, a winglet root having a winglet root chord, and a winglet tip. A flow fence is disposed on the wing surface inboard from the winglet and overlapping with the winglet. The flow fence is adapted to delay and/or prevent airflow separation on the winglet inboard surface at high angle of sideslip, increasing lateral stability and linearizing aircraft behavior at high angle of sideslip.

  • Patent number: 11260641
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for reticulating an adhesive on a workpiece. The workpiece may be perforated with a plurality of passages that extend through a first side to a second side. To reticulate an adhesive on the first side of a workpiece, a flow of heated fluid is provided through a nozzle. The nozzle provides the fluid at a first pressure to a first group of the perforations. Once the temperature at the first side of the workpiece reaches a specified range, the fluid pressure may be increased or otherwise set in order to clear the perforations by forcing the adhesive out of or away from each of the perforations. Temperature of the adhesive, pressure within the nozzle, and/or light passage through the perforations may be monitored for logical control or quality assurance.

  • Patent number: 11135981
Abstract: A mounting device for a smart device is adapted for removable connection to a headrest of a vehicle seat. The mounting device includes a first clamp including a first opening adapted for sliding receipt of a first headrest post of the headrest, and a second clamp separate from the first clamp and including a second opening adapted for sliding receipt of a second headrest post of the headrest. An adjustment mechanism operably connects the first clamp and the second clamp. The adjustment mechanism includes a cam latch aligned along a lateral distance separating the first clamp from the second clamp. The cam latch has a released position allowing for selective adjustment of the lateral distance between the first clamp from the second clamp and an engaged position for fixing the lateral distance between the first clamp and the second clamp.

  • Patent number: 7650011
Abstract: Visual tracking over a sequence of images is formulated by defining an object class and one or more background classes. The most discriminant features available in the images are then used to select a portion of each image as belonging to the object class. Fisher's linear discriminant method is used to project high-dimensional image data onto a lower-dimensional space, e.g., a line, and perform classification in the lower-dimensional space. The projection function is incrementally updated.
