  • Patent number: 8844799
Abstract: An cup insulating insert is provided that is adapted for placement between a container and an outer base sheet. The insert includes a plurality of spaced-apart fingers for separating the container from the base sheet and creating an air gap therebetween. The insert has void spaces or air gaps between the fingers that are sized such that, when a plurality of inserts are formed from a single sheet, the fingers of one insert are formed from the void spaces of an adjacent insert. Multiple inserts can be formed from a single sheet of recyclable material with substantially no waste material being created.

  • Patent number: 8840008
Abstract: A one piece container or scoop adapted for holding and serving food products and the like is provided. The container generally comprises front and rear wall panels foldably joined to a bottom wall panel. Side edge portions of the front and rear wall panels are adhesively bonded in a generally overlapping relationship to form a sidewall having opposed side seams. Lines provided on one or both of the front and rear wall panels aid in ensuring that the scoop is properly aligned with and formed around a forming head. Other marker lines are provided as visual indicators to ensure that the intended amount of overlap is achieved between the front and rear wall panels. Internal tabs extending upwardly from the bottom wall may be provided in order to seal the bottom of the scoop. Such tabs are configured so as to require not glue or adhesive.

  • Publication number: 20140263367
Abstract: A multi-walled container comprising a receptacle and outer sleeve having an embossment formed therein is provided. An insulating layer may be defined or provided between the receptacle and outer sleeve. The outer sleeve has an embossment provided at least partially therearound for engaging the upper lip of a second container when multiple containers are nested or stacked one within another. The embossment may be a continuous circumferential rib formed around substantially the entire perimeter of the sleeve or may be a plurality of ribs formed intermittently around the perimeter of the sleeve. In order for the embossment to contact or engage the upper lip of another container, the embossment preferably has a diameter that is larger than a diameter of an opening defined by the receptacle upper lip. The outer sleeve can be fixedly attached to the insulating layer or receptacle at locations both above and below the embossment.

  • Publication number: 20140263599
Abstract: A clamshell container having an anti-bind feature is provided. The container is comprised of a tray and a cover, each having a first panel and rear panel foldably connected along a rear fold line. One or both of the rear fold lines may be interrupted by a cut suitable for allowing the rear panels to flex or bow when the cover is hingedly rotated relative to the tray. A rear cut may be provided generally coextensive with each of the fold lines. The cuts can have an arcuate shape and may be convexly curved toward an interior of the container.

  • Publication number: 20140263352
Abstract: A multiple compartment container assembly for separately containing two articles. The container assembly includes a container, an insert and a lid, where the insert is disposed within the container. The container has an upper portion, a lower portion and a lip, where the upper portion is constructed to house the insert and the insert may be recessed in the container or may rest on the lip of the container. The insert can be constructed of a bottom wall, a sidewall extending upwardly therefrom, and a flange radially extending from the sidewall. The flange has at least one indention defined in a peripheral edge of the flange constructed to flange aid a user in placing a fingertip below the flange when removing the insert from the container. In one embodiment the flange has a plurality of intermittent indentions defined in the peripheral edge of the flange. The lid is removeably affixed to the container and covers the insert.

  • Publication number: 20140263353
Abstract: The present invention relates to a foldable carton blank that, when folded, forms a carton having a partition wall for segregating products within the carton. The partition wall member may be hingedly attached to a front panel of the carton such that the partition wall member may be unattached from the front panel and extended across the bottom panel of the carton to form two compartments within the carton. A slot in the rear panel of the carton may secure an end portion of the partition wall member when the partition wall member extends across the bottom panel of the carton to form the two compartments within the carton.

  • Publication number: 20140263595
Abstract: A multiple compartment container assembly for containing at least two articles arranged one above the other. The assembly includes a carton defining a first, lower compartment and a tray suspended within carton, wherein the tray defines a second, upper compartment. The tray may be provided with tabs extending therefrom suitable for removable engagement with corresponding notches defined in the carton. The tray's tabs may each include one or more forwardly or rearwardly extending projections for engaging portions of the carton adjacent the carton's notches in order to ensure the tray is held in a suspended position within the carton. The carton's notches may each include one or more forwardly or rearwardly extending projections extending therein for retaining the tray's tabs and preventing the tabs from becoming inadvertently upwardly disengaged from the notches. It will be appreciated that the notches' projections may be deflected in order to disengage the tray's tabs.

  • Publication number: 20140117016
Abstract: A lid and closure member assembly for placement on a container is provided. The lid includes a cover portion, an access port and an elongated channel defined in the cover portion. The channel may include two opposing side walls, two opposing end walls and a bottom. The channel's side walls can each include an inwardly-projecting lip forming an undercut for slidably receiving a portion of the closure member. The closure member includes an access port cap, a retainer slidably received within the channel and a strap extending between the access port cap and the retainer. The closure member is selectively movable between open and closed positions. The access port cap may cover the access port when the retainer is in a first position within the channel or may be at least partially received within the channel when the retainer is in a second position within the channel.

  • Publication number: 20140101910
Abstract: A dispenser is provided for viscous condiments. The dispenser includes a tubular sidewall having opposite ends. One opposite end is open and can receive a plunger or piston therein for applying force to condiment contained within a compartment inside of the sidewall. The other end of the sidewall includes a dispenser valve assembly comprising a member secured to an inturned flange portion of the sidewall with the flange portion being generally normal to the sidewall. The dispenser valve assembly is suitably secured to the flange portion as by heat sealing to form a composite laminated structure that is resistant to the penetration of liquids from the condiments. A bead of hot melt can be provided to seal an exposed outer edge of the dispenser valve assembly and to seal the dispenser valve assembly to the sidewall.
