A process for producing the reaction product of the functionalized polypropylene and the polyether amine by melting with polypropylene in a customary mixing apparatus is also disclosed. Blends of the present invention are advantageously useful to prepare paintable automotive body parts.

    Abstract: Improved methods and apparatus for the preparation of maleic anhydride by reacting a hydrocarbon having at least four carbon atoms in a straight chain with molecular oxygen in a catalytic reactor, the reactor comprising a fixed catalyst bed having active sites comprising a vanadium-phosphorus-oxygen catalyst for the catalytic oxidation of the hydrocarbon to maleic anhydride, said process further comprising the continuous or intermittent introduction of a phosphorus-containing agent to the reactor. The introduction of the phosphorus-containing agent into the maleic anhydride production system is controlled so to provide for a more uniform distribution of the phosphorus-containing agent throughout the reactor. The methods of the invention are effective to reduce deposits of the phosphorus-containing agent or decomposition products of the phosphorus-containing agent on reactor surfaces other than the catalytic bed thereby decreasing reactor maintenance and increasing reactor lifetime.

Anodic current may be provided by, for example, galvanic coupling with a material having a more positive reduction potential in the electrolytic solution (or given the system of electrolytic solutions) than copper, and/or by applying an impressed anodic current to the copper or copper-containing metal. Separate reaction vessels may be employed to house a first copper metal and a second cathode metal, as well as the electrolytic solutions associated with each.

The benzene alkylation may be conducted using reactive distillation. This invention is also directed to a process for production of LAB having a high 2-phenyl isomer content by combining LAB product from the fluorine-containing mordenite product from a conventional LAB alkylation catalyst such as hydrogen fluoride.
