  • Patent number: 11568991
Abstract: A diagnostic tool includes a sensor for capturing at least one biosignal produced by a patient's heart and a computer device that implements a neural network iteratively trained via machine learning to generate a prediction about a heart condition of the patient. After the neural network is trained, the computer device can convert the at least one biosignal to a multi-dimensional input matrix for the deep neural network generated from a number (N) of biosignals captured by the sensor. The computer device then processes the multi-dimensional input matrix through the deep neural network, which subsequently outputs the prediction about the heart condition of the patient.

  • Patent number: 7623411
Abstract: A connection system for connecting external devices to a streamer. The connection system comprises three outer collars maintained collinearly aligned by a stabilizing member, such as a lightweight, rigid tube, attached to each outer collar. The tube extends parallel to the bores of the outer collars. The forward and aft outer collars ride on races formed on the periphery of inner collars clamped around mounting structure in the interior of the streamer. An external device is attached to the forward collar and to the intermediate collar, which does not ride on an inner collar. The spacing between the forward and intermediate collars is fixed by the standard spacing of the two attachment points in standard external devices. The spacing between the forward and aft collars is set by the specified spacing of mounting structures in the interior of the streamer.

  • Patent number: 7616522
Abstract: A seismic streamer and a method for positioning a group of hydrophones in a seismic streamer. The hydrophones in a group are spaced irregularly along the length of the streamer to reduce the influence of bulge-wave noise and flow noise on the hydrophone group response. The irregular spacing may be produced as pseudorandom deviations of the actual positions of the hydrophones from a nominal uniform spacing of hydrophones.

  • Patent number: 7423929
Abstract: A device and a method for laterally steering a streamer cable towed underwater behind a seismic survey vessel. The device includes a cable-steering assembly rotatably attached to a streamer cable. The assembly includes a body to which one or more wings are mounted. The wings are arranged to pivot about pivot axes. The assembly is ballasted so that the pivot axes of the wings are largely in a vertical plane. A conventional cable-leveling bird is converted to one version of a cable-steering device by ballasting to maintain the pivot axes of the bird's wings largely vertical. With an orientation sensor for sensing the orientation of the wings, the cable-steering device adjusts the angle of the wings to provide a sideward component of force to steer the streamer.

  • Publication number: 20080181717
Abstract: A connection system for connecting external devices to specified locations on a marine seismic streamer. Inner collars are clamped to the cable at specified locations along its length. Each inner collar forms a circular race encircling the cable. An outer collar attached to an external device rotatably receives the inner collar and the encircled streamer in its bore to allow the streamer to rotate freely within the outer collar relative to the external device. The outer collar has an inner face bounding and defining the shape of the bore. The inner face is tapered from an intermediate position outward toward front and rear edges of the outer collar to form a bore that is wider at the front and rear edges than at the intermediate position. This flaring out of the bore provides the streamer three degrees of angular freedom to position itself within the bore.

  • Publication number: 20070286023
Abstract: A seismic data acquisition system includes a controller, a plurality of sensor stations and a plurality of seismic sources. Each sensor station includes a sensor coupled to the earth for sensing seismic energy in the earth. The sensor provides a signal indicative of the sensed seismic energy and a recorder device co-located with the sensor unit that receives and stores the signals. A communication device is co-located with the sensor station and provides direct two-way wireless communication with the central controller. In one embodiment, in-field personnel determine elevation values, or Z values, for the sensor stations and seismic source by accessing a digital elevation model or a look-up table based on the digital elevation model. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.

  • Publication number: 20070286021
Abstract: A seismic spread has a plurality of seismic stations positioned over a terrain of interest and a controller programmed to automate the data acquisition activity. In one aspect, the present disclosure provides a method for forming a seismic spread by developing a preliminary map of suggested locations for seismic devices and later forming a final map having in-field determined location data for the seismic devices. Each suggested location is represented by a virtual flag used to navigate to each suggested location. A seismic device is placed at each suggested location and the precise location of the each placed seismic devices is determined by a navigation device. The determined locations are used to form a second map based on the determined location of the one or more of the placed seismic devices. Using the virtual flag eliminates having to survey the terrain and place physical markers and later remove those physical markers.

  • Publication number: 20070286022
Abstract: A seismic spread has a plurality of seismic stations positioned over a terrain of interest and a controller programmed to automate the data acquisition activity. In one embodiment, the controller forms a queue of sources that are ready to fire and initiating the firing of the sources according to a preset protocol. The sensor stations each include power management circuitry that may shift or adjust the power level of the sensor station during the data acquisition activity. During operation, the controller broadcasts data that the power management circuitry of each sensor station uses to determine the appropriate energy state for that sensor station. This determination may be made using the broadcast data alone or in conjunction with other data such as a GPS-determined position of the sensor station. Thus, in one aspect, each sensor station self-selects an energy state according to the broadcast status of the data acquisition activity.

  • Publication number: 20070286020
Abstract: A method and system for acquiring seismic data from a seismic survey plan is provided. A survey area is selected in which the seismic data will be acquired. A coordinate for at least one point of interest within the survey area is determined and input into a portable navigation device. A navigation solution is determined between a GPS-determined location of the portable navigation device and the determined coordinate and thereupon presented in a human cognizable media. A seismic device may be positioned at the determined coordinate to insonify a subterranean formation with seismic energy or for detecting reflected seismic energy. Data may be periodically entered into and retrieved from the portable navigation device by an in-field operator. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.
