Abstract: An aspect of present principles is directed to methods and systems for gamut mapping colors from a either a source color gamut or a content color gamut towards a target color gamut. A source hue of the source specific colors and a source hue of the content specific colors is changed towards a target hue of the corresponding target specific colors. Color gamut mapping is performed for the source colors of either the whole source color gamut or the content color gamut towards the target color gamut based on the mapped specific colors. The specific colors are selected from primary colors, secondary colors, a group of primary colors and secondary colors.

Abstract: A method for a placement of a virtual object of an augmented or mixed reality application in a real-world 3D environment, comprises: selecting (14), at a runtime of the augmented or mixed reality application, one of a finite set of at least two candidate insertion areas predetermined in the real-world 3D environment for the placement of the virtual object in the real-world 3D environment, based on criteria combining, for each of the candidate insertion areas, relationships between each of: the real-world 3D environment, the virtual object considered with respect to a placement of that virtual object in that candidate insertion area, and a user position; and inserting (14) the virtual object in the selected candidate insertion area.
Abstract: A method is proposed for estimating a depth for pixels in a matrix of M images. Such method comprises, at least for one set of N images among the M images, 2<N?M, a process comprising: —determining depth maps for the images in the set of N images delivering a set of N depth maps; —for at least one current pixel for which a depth has not yet been estimated: —deciding if a candidate depth corresponding to a depth value in the set of N depth maps is consistent or not with the other depth map(s) of the set of N depth maps; —selecting the candidate depth as being the estimated depth for the current pixel if the candidate depth is decided as consistent. The process is enforced iteratively with a new N value which is lower than the previous N value used in the previous iteration of the process.
Abstract: A method to assign a service flow classification for a client device that is performed at a network interface device includes accessing a configuration file having an interface mask, and correlating interface mask bit values with at least one port of the network interface. The network interface device associates the client device with the at least one port of the network interface device and assigns a service flow classification based on the interface mask bit values for an access request received by the network interface device from the client device. The network interface device then communicates with a virtual local area network mapping device using the service flow classification. The virtual local area network mapping device maps the service flow into a VLAN for the service flow of the client device.
Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for controlling ZigBee® sensors. The method comprises: selecting a second coordinator of a second ZigBee® network as a backup coordinator; detecting whether there is a failure of a first ZigBee® coordinator; and if a failure of the working coordinator is detected, designating the second ZigBee® coordinator as the networking coordinator for the end user devices in the first ZigBee® network to join the second ZigBee® network.
Abstract: To enable fast startup of an audio/video receiver device and quick receipt of a first audio/video stream, is provided a method in an intermediate device in between a router device and the receiver device. The intermediate device snoops the communication between the audio/video receiver device and the router device to determine the protocol version of the router device to subscribe to a transmission of an audio/video stream and to determine that the receiver device is starting up. If the protocol version is a version not supporting Source Specific Multicast and the receiver device is booting, a message indicating the protocol version is transmitted to the receiver device during starting up of the receiver device so that the latter can switch to a protocol version supported by the IP multicast router device without further delay.
Abstract: A position and an orientation of a user in a virtual 3D scene is determined (22), an action is executed (24) in the virtual 3D scene for the user in function of the position and orientation of the user with respect to a given place, and a result of the action is outputted (25). For at least one event in the scene consisting in a presence of at least one determined virtual content, metadata linking the event(s) and at least one place of the event(s) are obtained (21). A given event and the given place linked by those metadata are determined (241), in function of the above position and orientation and of a relationship between that event and a user profile of the user. The action regarding the determined given event and place is executed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided with a solution to adjacent channel interference when a multi-carrier modulation system (e.g., OFDM) replaces a legacy modulation system and co-exists with it for a period of time. The adjacent channel interference can be reduced by blocking (setting to 0) and not using some of the carriers at the edge of the spectrum during the transition period. This effectively reduces the bandwidth of the channel and consequently, the adjacent channel interference caused by the multi-carrier signal. However, at some point in time, the legacy system will be turned off and the adjacent channel interference into the original channels will no longer be important. The present principles propose a mechanism to allow for the unblocking of the removed carriers once the interference problem becomes less strict.

Abstract: A method for selectively changing an activation status of an access point in a wireless system is described. The wireless system includes a plurality of wireless access points having at least one device for extending wireless signal coverage coupled thereto and a controller. The controller is configured to change the activation status of the at least one extender coupled to the one or more of the plurality of wireless access points based on connection quality of a user device to the wireless system.
Abstract: A method and device for processing a light field video is described. The light field video includes a set of image views per unit of time, the light field video being associated with a scene without cuts. In the method a first super-rays representation of reference image views at a given time is determined based on centroids. A second super-rays representation associated with corresponding views of a subsequent set of image views is next determined based on de-projection and re-projection of centroids. The displacement of centroids between the first and second super-rays is determined and then the determined displacement is applied to centroids of the second super-rays representation.
Abstract: A method for rendering a non-photorealistic (NPR) content from a set (SI) of at least one image of a same scene is provided. The set of images (SI) is associated with a depth image comprising a set of regions. Each region corresponds to a region of a given depth. The method for rendering a non-photorealistic content includes generation of a segmented image having at least one segmented region generated with a given segmentation scale. The at least one segmented region corresponds to at least one region of the set of regions. A binary edge image is generated in which at least one binary edge region is generated with a given edge extraction scale, the at least one binary edge region corresponding to at least one region of the set of regions. The non-photorealistic content is rendered by combining the segmented image and the binary edge image.

Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a device for forming a field intensity pattern in the near zone, from electromagnetic waves which are incident on said device. Notably, such a device allows confining electromagnetic waves, which are incident on the device, into beams of radiation in the near zone. It comprises at least one layer of dielectric material, which surface has at least one abrupt change of level forming a step. A lower and lateral part of said surface with respect to said step is in contact with a substance having a refractive index lower than that of said dielectric material. For an incident electromagnetic wave impinging upon the device in the vicinity of such a step, the corresponding step of index it encounters produces a complex electromagnetic phenomenon, which allows generating low-dispersive condensed beams and specific field patterns in the near zone.

Abstract: In a situation where a capturing device is capturing a first image of a scene comprising a display device displaying a second image, a salient idea is to send both the captured first image and the second image, being displayed by the display device to a processing device, for comparatively processing the first and the second image to determine a characteristic associated with the display device. Being able to process the first image (comprising a displayed second image) together with the original second image advantageously allows to determine various characteristics associated with the display device that altered the displayed second image within the first image, making it different from the initial second image. Characteristics associated with the display device are for example a specular reflection occurring on the display device in the scene and disturbing the capture of the scene.
