  • Patent number: 8374287
Abstract: A received FM wave signal is subjected to quadrature detection to generate baseband I and Q signals. The baseband I and Q signals are converted into a sequence of samples of phase information. An FM-detection-result signal is generated in response to a variation between two successive samples of the phase information. A power of the baseband I and Q signals is computed. A decision is made as to whether the baseband I and Q signals are valid or invalid by referring to the computed power and at least one threshold value. Signal interpolation is implemented with respect to the FM-detection-result signal in cases where it is decided that the baseband I and Q signals are invalid.

  • Patent number: 8368569
Abstract: A data conversion device is provided with a data converting means that sequentially converts first data into second data of the number of second bits, wherein an analog signal is quantized into the first data by the number of first bits, and the first and second data can be first and second maximum values, respectively. The data converting means is comprised of a first conversion means (steps 21 and 23) that, when a value of the fast data is not the first maximum value, converts the first data to the second data by adding 0 to a lower bit side of the first data and a second conversion means (steps 21 and 24-26) that converts the first data to the second data so that, when a value of the first data is the fast maximum value, a value can be made larger, in accordance with a value be-fore or after the first data, than the data of the number of second bits obtained by adding 0 to the lower bit side of the first data.

  • Patent number: 8363826
Abstract: A multiplication value decision unit (12) decides a multiplication value which is a positive value or a negative value corresponding to a bit value of each bit contained in a binary bit string constituting a scramble pattern generated in a pattern generation unit (11). A multiplication processing unit (13) multiplies symbol data representing each symbol value in the symbol data string formed by the multinary symbol containing a predetermined pair of a positive value and a negative value having an identical absolute value, in the value area, by the multiplication value decided by the multiplication value decision unit (12). Here, the multiplication processing unit (13) successively executes the multiplication between the symbol data for one symbol and the multiplication value decided corresponding to the bit value of the one bit contained in the scramble pattern until the number of symbols expressed by the symbol data string is reached.

  • Patent number: 8359064
Abstract: This invention is directed to a wireless apparatus to carry out transmission and reception by either a digital communication system or an analog communication system and, in particular, provides a technical method to change over a signal system for a transmission electric wave. Concretely, when a carrier is received, a switch (PTT) is pushed in the case of response. In this case, if a default set transmission signal system is different from a reception signal system of a received audio signal, it is possible to modulate the audio signal after the transmission signal system is changed over to the same signal system as the reception signal system. Thus, a wireless apparatus is provided for making it possible to promptly change over a signal system of a transmission electric wave without doing troublesome operations.

  • Patent number: 8335972
Abstract: A soft decision device and method for obtaining a soft decision value as a value expressing a probability as near the actual probability as possible by simple processing. The soft decision device and method are used to output a soft decision value for each bit of each symbol used for decoding the each symbol as a value corresponding to the function value obtained by applying a predetermined function for each bit to the sampled value of the each symbol according to the demodulated signal such that the probability distribution of the sampled value in each symbol point is the Gauss distribution. The function for each bit is approximated to a curve expressing the probability that each bit is 1 or 0 for the sampled value of each symbol of the demodulated signal and defined by using a quadratic function.

  • Patent number: 8332100
Abstract: Reproduction is performed so that the user can grasp the details of content information on long sentence reading the reproduction of which has been suspended. If an vehicle-mounted device (10) receives content information with higher priority of the reproduction than that of the content information on the long sentence reading during the reproduction of the content information on the long sentence reading received from a center apparatus by a reproduction section (step S4; Y), the vehicle-mounted device (10) allows the control of a control unit to suspend the reproduction of the content information on the long sentence reading (step S7) and to start the reproduction of the content information with higher priority (step S8). • Patent number: 8265987
Abstract: A road-vehicle communication system warns or gives caution to a vehicle traveling in a reverse way direction and may also give warning to vehicles traveling in a correct direction. The road-vehicle communication system includes a first roadside apparatus at an entrance gate that gives entry gate pass information indicating that a vehicle passing a communicative area has entered a toll road. A second roadside apparatus at an exit ramp acquires any given entry gate pass information from a passing vehicle. An administration device judges whether or not the entry gate pass information is acquired from the passing vehicle. If the entry gate pass information is not acquired, the second roadside apparatus provides the vehicle with reverse-way driving warning information for warning the vehicle that the vehicle is traveling in the reverse direction.

Abstract: In a radio receiving apparatus, an analog received signal is converted into a digital received signal. An unwanted wave in an adjacent channel band is rejected, that is adjacent to a passband for the digital received signal. The digital received signal with no unwanted wave is converted into a first demodulated signal. The first demodulated signal is converted into a second demodulated signal in analog form. A noise component is extracted from the first demodulated signal.
