  • Patent number: 6538977
Abstract: An attachment portion 20 for a laser diode 1 is formed on a frame 2 of an optical pickup device. The attachment portion 20 includes a pair of inner peripheral faces 233 and 234 to which an outer peripheral face 103 of a circular stem 101 of the laser diode 1 can be press-fitted, and a pair of convex faces 241 and 242 rockably supporting an annular end face 104 of the stem 101 around a rocking center line L1. When the laser diode 1 is press-fitted and is then rocked around the rocking center line L1, the intensity distribution center of a laser beam 11 emitted from the laser diode 1 can be coincident with an optical axis L of an optical system.

Abstract: A gear meshing with a pinion controls the angle of rotation of a valve element which is brought into sliding contact with a valve seat, thereby controlling the opening and closing of a communicating hole of outflow pipe. During welding the valve seat plate and a housing, a hook portion of an upper portion of the gear is retained by a retaining portion to cause the valve element to be spaced apart from the valve seat. After natural cooling, the pinion is remotely operated by an electric motor to rotate the gear, thereby canceling the holding. A resilient arm causes the gear to be disengaged from the retaining portion by its urging force, brings the valve element into pressure contact with the valve seat, and allows the opening/closing operation to function smoothly.

Abstract: In the invention, pairs of output transistors are provided. An actuator having an inductance is connected to nodes formed between the pairs of output transistors. A drive circuit for the actuator is arranged such that the actuator is driven by causing a drive current to flow into the inductance. The drive circuit has an overvoltage detection circuit for detecting whether or not a voltage appearing at the nodes of the output transistor pairs exceeds a supply voltage by a first predetermined level and whether or not the voltage becomes lower than a ground level by a second predetermined level. Output transistors connected to the nodes are activated by an output from the overvoltage detection circuit.

  • Patent number: 6438075
Abstract: A returning light beam from an optical disc is divided by a separating diffractor in the directions perpendicular to a track direction of the optical recording medium, and according to respective illuminances of the divided light beams, a deviation amount of an objective lens to an optical axis is detected. By feedback-controlling an objective lens driver by using the information of the detected deviation amount, the objective lens can be made to become stationary at the desired position in a short time. Accordingly, a time period required for the oscillation attenuation of the objective lens can be shortened, thereby, a time period for the reproduction can be shortened.
