  • Patent number: 7280877
Abstract: A facility control monitor method and a facility control monitor apparatus capable of visually tracing a control logic and easily finding a cause of an operation trouble caused by the control logic. The facility control monitor method monitors control performed by a control device included in a facility having a controllable device, the control device for controlling the controllable device, a setting device for transmitting a setting control value to the control device, and a sensor for transmitting an operation state measurement value of the controllable device to the control device. Processes of control performed by the control device are stored. When an arbitrary date and time is specified by a trace controller (35), predetermined control steps of the specified date and time and after are displayed in a flowchart on a control flow display unit.

  • Patent number: 7234574
Abstract: There is disclosed a damping coefficient switching-type hydraulic damper that may automatically switch a damping coefficient without needing supply of energy from the outside at all, and also may always surely exert an energy absorption capacity greater than that of a typical hydraulic damper. While a piston is moving in a direction A, a mechanical drive means composed of a straight gear and a crank mechanism allows an on-off control operation valve, that is, a flow regulating valve to be placed in a closed state, and a damping coefficient is switched to a maximum value Cmax. When a movement of the piston is turned in a direction B at a left-side maximum point of amplitude, the mechanical drive means works to once open the flow regulating valve to perform elimination of a load, so that the damping coefficient is switched to a minimum value (Cmin).

Abstract: Systems and methods for installation and operation of a groundwater monitoring system in a borehole of any angle using a coaxial gas displacement pump with a unique O-ring assembly that serves as a two-position valve for groundwater purging and sampling and also as a housing and sealing mechanism for isolating an optical pressure sensor. The optical sensor measures in-situ hydraulic pressure directly subjacent and adjacent to the surrounding rock fractures and sediment pores without hydraulic interferences from potentiometric equilibration lag time from recovery fluid pressure inside a borehole, in a zone above the optical sensor, or on the inside of a riser pipe that rises to the ground surface.

  • Patent number: 7143875
Abstract: A hydraulic damper used for reducing shaking of a structure, for example in an earthquake. The hydraulic damper has a cylinder, a piston movable in a reciprocating manner within the cylinder, hydraulic chambers at opposite sides of the piston, and a single on-off control valve. There is a passage for connecting both of the hydraulic chambers and is on-off controlled to change a damping coefficient. A damping coefficient switching-type hydraulic damper is provided between a piston rod and the on-off control valve. A first damping coefficient is attained when the on-off control valve is maintained in a closed state for movement of said piston in one direction, and a second damping coefficient is attained when the on-off control valve is opened. A mechanical drive for the control valve may be a straight gear operatively attached to the piston rod of the cylinder, and a crank mechanism that works with the straight gear to on-off control the control valve.

  • Patent number: 6701281
Abstract: A building response function defining a response of a building to specific environmental change, e.g., occurrence of a fire, in terms of the building structure, is stored in a computer. Also stored is a refuge motion function defining the refuge motion of individuals in terms of attributes of the individuals and the building response. The building response is computed by substituting design values of the building structure into the response function. Attributes of persons are inputted to the computer, and individuals' refuge motion is computed by using both inputted attributes and the computed building response. With the inputted and computed values, three-dimensional (3D) simulation images of the building structure, of the building response, and of individuals' refuge motion are computed. Then, a superposed 3D simulation image of the three images is displayed to facilitate analysis of the building performance.

  • Publication number: 20020029129
Abstract: A computer 8 stores a response function 21 defining relation between the structure of a building and response 3 of the building to an environmental change. A 3-dimensional (3D) simulation image Is1 of the building is computed based on design values 11 of the building structure. The response 3 is computed by substituting the design values 11 in the response function 21, and a 3D simulation image Is3 of the response 3 is computed. The two 3D simulation images Is1 and Is3 are superposed so as to produce a superposed 3D simulation image Is. With comparison the 3D images Is1 and Is, i.e., images before and after the change, the response 3 to the change is visualized and analyzed as performance of the building. Preferably, the response 3 is expressed as a function of both the structure and equipment installed therein, and the response 3 of the building is computed based on the structural design values 11 and equipment design values 12.

  • Patent number: 5798011
Abstract: A method of making a combination concrete panel wall, concrete window frame, and concrete sash glazing frame. The sill, lintel, and jambs of the window frame are fiber-reinforced concrete extrusions which are cut to length and cemented together. The hardened frame is placed in a concrete panel molding frame to locate and define a window opening. The concrete panel wall grout is then poured and dovetail-type mortise and tenon joints are precast in the exterior faces of the window frame which abut the poured concrete wall panel plastic grout, to permanently mold and interlock the window frame to the panel wall. The sash members are fitted about a window pane which is located in interior grooves in the sash members and then glazed. Sealing means interconnect the sash to the window frame to provide a condensation-resistant, water-tight, air-tight, heat and fire-resistant concrete wall closure.

Abstract: A house 2 is isolated from the foundation 1 by a rolling bearing 3. A vibration control device 6 with a releasable rigid connector 5 is added in parallel to the rolling bearing 3. Further, a release controller 8 of the rigid connector 5 is connected to the output end of an earthquake detector 7 on the house 2, so as to release the rigid connector 5 in response to output signal from the earthquake detector 7. Thus, the building 2 normally stands without vibration against wind by rigid connection to the foundation 1 through the rigid connector 5. On the other hand, when earthquake occurs, the rigid connector 5 is released by the release controller 8 by the output from the earthquake detector 7, so as to control the vibration of the building 2 by a combination of the rolling bearing 3 and the vibration control device 6.

A first vertical wall column has a top connected to a horizontal wall girder overhanging the wall column. A second wall column is erected in vertical alignment beneath the tip end of the wall girder co-planar with, but spaced from, the first wall column. A seismic response control apparatus connected between the tip end of the wall girder and the top of the second wall column generates damping force when the tip end of the wall girder and the top of the second wall column are displaced relative to each other. Additional girders are arranged on lower stories of the building as required to further strengthen the building against seismic deformation.
