  • Patent number: 6275504
Abstract: A direct memory read and cell transmission apparatus for an ATM cell segmentation system having a host CPU is disclosed. The segmentation circuit of the apparatus transfers the address and size for the start of the DMA by the byte unit. When a predetermined information is provided, and a DMA read is requested, the data is transferred through the bus of the word unit such as the PCI interface, and then necessary bytes are obtained for thereby forming a 32 bit word stream, so that the ATM cell of a 32 bit×12 word form and transfers to the lower circuit. Therefore, when the segmentation circuit processes the buffer, all data are computed by the byte unit, and in an application program, the data are not obtained for transmitting the data to the ATM cell, so that it is possible to enhance the processing capability.

  • Patent number: 6249517
Abstract: An apparatus for spreading the information signals in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) system supporting various information rates, and more particularly, to an apparatus for selecting a channel-separating and PN (Pseudo-random Noise) spreading method according to the rate of the symbol to spread. One channel-separating and/or PN spreading method is selected from two different spreading methods according to a condition among the symbol rate, the length of the orthogonal code, and the chip rate. One spreading method is to use an orthogonal code and the long PN code with a fixed time offset as the channel-separating and the PN spreading code, respectively. The other is to use the long code with different time offset for each channel as the channel-separating and/or PN spreading code. The spreading method gives lots of flexibility in system design and also reduces the multiple access interference among channels with a certain rate.

  • Patent number: 6129865
Abstract: A method of ferrules used in an optical connector for connection and short-circuit of making multichannel optical signals. Heretofore, many fiber receiving holes have been arranged along a line at regular intervals with tolerance amounting to less than 1 micron. 10 and connect two ferrules, a precisely processed cylindrical metal guide pin under 1 micron, precise pitches formed in ferrules and a metal pin guide hole are used, Consequently, it has been necessary to maintain a high degree of precision. The present invention maintains a high degree of precision by reverse direction connection dependent merely on a predetermined height a reference plane. The reference plane is formed by relatively easy plane processing as the method of maintaining precise height and directivity of flow is added to the inside of a mold.

  • Patent number: 6104326
Abstract: An apparatus for recovering high speed NRZ (non-return to zero) data is disclosed. A phase-locked loop (PLL) frequency-divides the frequency which is outputted from a voltage-controlled ring oscillator, and therefore, the physical limit of the PLL is not affected. The voltage-controlled ring oscillators are installed separately from the PLL, and the voltage-controlled ring oscillators are synchronized with the PLL in the frequency only. Further, the oscillators are phase-locked to the incoming NRZ data, and two voltage-controlled ring oscillators are enabled/disabled by the binary values of the NRZ data. Therefore, a bit synchronization is realized, and thus, the voltage-controlled ring oscillators are directly controlled by the NRZ data. Consequently, the NRZ data can be recovered up to the frequency band at which the voltage-controlled ring oscillators and a D flip flop operate.
