  • Publication number: 20180037417
Abstract: A device for increasing the safety of roller coasters and/or having at least one safety apparatus, wherein the safety apparatus has first means for the long-term measurement of at least one load in at least one component during the operation of an amusement ride and second means for detecting a change in the at least one load measured during the long-term measurement and for initiating at least one safety reaction at the roller coaster or the carousel. The disclosure further relates to a method for increasing the safety of amusement rides by means of at least one safety apparatus, wherein first means of the safety apparatus perform a long-term measurement of at least one load in at least one component during the entire operating duration of the amusement ride and second means detect a change in the at least one load measured during the long-term measurement, wherein the second means initiate an automatic safety reaction at the roller coaster and/or the carousel, which safety reaction depends on the change.

  • Patent number: 9656180
Abstract: The invention is a water amusement ride, comprising at least one water vehicle, which can be moved in a body of water and which comprises seats for accommodating passengers. A platform is provided, which extends out of the water surface in an idle state of the water amusement ride and is beneath the water surface in an operating state, and a platform carrier is provided, which lifts the platform out of the water surface in the idle state. According to the invention, the platform carrier and/or the platform comprises at least one floating body. The switch to the idle state (and possibly also back to the operating state) can be completed more quickly and with lower force and energy consumption in comparison with a traditional water amusement ride.

  • Publication number: 20160288809
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for changing the direction of travel of a rail-bound vehicle, comprising a feeding rail section, a removing rail section, and a connecting rail section, which can be moved from a first position, in which the connecting rail section is arranged in relation to the feeding rail section in such a way that the rail-bound vehicle can drive onto the connecting rail section, to a second position, in which the connecting rail section is arranged in relation to the removing rail section in such a way that the vehicle can drive onto the removing rail section, by means of a motion comprising at least one rotational motion about an axis of the rotational motion. The invention further relates to a rail-bound ride having such a device, and to a method for operating such a device.

  • Publication number: 20160250560
Abstract: A track system for amusement rides with truss-like track elements, which consist of at least one three girder system and comprise, as the first and second girder elements, tracks extending alongside each other, and at least one other girder element, wherein a first stiffening plane is formed by means of the tracks and cross beams connecting the tracks, and second and third stiffening planes are formed in each case by means of one track and the transverse struts, connecting said track to the at least third girder element; and, in order to form the track sections, the cross beams and the transverse struts are arranged spaced apart.

  • Patent number: 9095780
Abstract: A rotating water amusement ride is described in which the passengers can in a simpler manner walk to their seats in the water vessels while keeping their feet dry. This is principally achieved by a water amusement ride, with at least one water vessel which is preferably movable in the body of water, and having a float body which is borne by the water and which has seats for accommodating passengers, wherein a platform is provided which, in a rest state of the water amusement ride, protrudes out of the water surface.

  • Publication number: 20130130812
Abstract: The invention relates to a water amusement ride (1), comprising at least one water vehicle (20) that can be moved in a body of water and a floating body (23) that is carried by water, having seats for accommodating passengers, wherein a platform (10) is provided, which extends out of the water surface (4) of the body of water when the water amusement ride (1) is in an idle state and is beneath the water surface (4) when in operation. An advantage of said invention is that the passengers can reach their seats in the water vehicles without getting wet feet when the water amusement ride is in an idle state.

  • Patent number: 7854663
Abstract: The water amusement ride according to the invention has watercraft that are pulled through the body of water (1) on a traction cable (40). These watercraft are composed of a frame (10), pulled by the traction cable (40), on which a float (20) having a platform (24) is rotatably supported and on the underside of which is provided with a blade wheel (30). When the watercraft is moved through the body of water (1) in the direction of the arrow (A), the blade wheel (30) together with the float (20) are set in rotational motion by the resulting flow.

  • Patent number: 7836829
Abstract: The invention relates to a rail-bound vehicle for an amusement park ride. The vehicle has an upper part 10 with vehicle seats 12, as well as a carriage 20 whose running wheels 22 and lateral wheels 23 run on rail-tubes, as do its lift-off rollers 24. The upper part 10 can rotate freely around a vertical axis 16 relative to the carriage 20. A brake disk 14? made of a metallic material is provided on the underside of the upper part 10. Permanent magnets 31 connected to the rail system are assigned to this brake disk 14?. The brake disk 14, upon passing these permanent magnets 31, enters the latter's magnet field, with the result that the upper part 10 of the vehicle is braked and set into rotational motion due to the continued linear movement of the carriage 20.
