  • Patent number: 6970551
Abstract: A method for uniquely identifying calls having the same originating number and dialed number, and network components adapted to carry out that method. A Parking Manager receives a Park Request that includes the originating number, the dialed number, and a Network Call ID (Identification). The Parking Manager accesses a pool of Dialed Number Identification System (DNIS) override digits associated with the dialed number and returns these digits with the response to the Park Request. The originating number and DNIS override digits uniquely identify the call, and are combined with the destination number, and the combination is flagged as pending in the Parking Manager. The DNIS override digits are received by an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system that uses a many-to-one mapping to identify the dialed number and complete the call, and returns a call arrival signal to the Parking Manager including a PPID generated by the Voice Response system to Parking Manager.

  • Patent number: 6968571
Abstract: An integrated series of security protocols is disclosed that protect remote user communications with remote enterprise services, and simultaneously protect the enterprises services from third parties. In the first layer, an implementation of the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) version of HTTPS provides communications security, including authentication of the enterprise web server and the security of the transmitted data. The protocols provide for an identification of the user, and an authentication of the user to ensure the user is who he/she claims to be and a determination of entitlements that the user may avail themselves of within the enterprise system. Session security is described, particularly as to the differences between a remote user's copper wire connection to a legacy system and a user's remote connection to the enterprise system over a “stateless” public Internet, where each session is a single transmission, rather than an interval of time between logon and logoff, as is customary in legacy systems.

  • Patent number: 6947532
Abstract: A method of identifying fraud in a telecommunications system. The method includes receiving data related to a current call placed from an originating automatic number indicator (ANI), where the received data includes at least the originating ANI, a billing number and an identification code. A threshold number and a time interval corresponding to the identification code for the originating ANI are retrieved, for example, from a memory. In addition, billing numbers for prior calls from the originating ANI, if any, and corresponding indicia of the times of the calls are retrieved. A determination is made of whether the number of billing numbers used for the current and prior calls from the originating ANI over a prior period of time equal to or less than the time interval exceeds the threshold number. If the threshold number is exceeded, a fraud alert is generated.
