Abstract: A computing system and method leverage aggregated information regarding historical medication usage and medication availability to efficiently determine a unified purchasing solution. In a method, an order is received for a quantity of a medication. For a covered entity, a portion of the quantity of the medication that is able to be satisfied pursuant to a 340B program is determined based upon information regarding historical usage of the medication for outpatients and prior purchases under the 340B program. The method also includes determining the portions that are separately able to be satisfied pursuant to a group purchasing organization (GPO) program and a wholesaler/prime vendor program. The method further includes determining a proposed purchasing solution and to cause information regarding the proposed purchasing solution to be provided including information regarding savings based upon the prices of the medication for a respective period of time that was provided by the supplier.

Abstract: A computing device, method and computer program product are provided to automatically reverse an action indicated by an electronic message. In relation to a method, an electronic message is parsed to separately identify a plurality of fields of the electronic message providing different types of information. The method constructs a response to the electronic message that reverses the action indicated by the electronic message and transmits the response to the electronic message to a request processor that provided the electronic message. The method constructs an alternative message that provides an alternative action to the action indicated by the electronic message and transmits the alternative message to a source. In response to the alternative message, the method receives a subsequent request from the source. If the alternative action is to be taken, the method processes the subsequent request in a different manner than the request that generated the electronic message.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product modify messaging behavior based upon parsing and different processing of different portions of a request. In a method, a request is received that includes a first and second differently formatted portions. The method parses the request to separately identify the first and second portions, analyzes the second portion of the request and causes a message based at least in part upon the first portion to be transmitted to a request processor. Based upon the message including the first portion, the method receives a response from the request processor. Based upon the response from the claims processor, the method causes a response to the request to be provided. The message to the request processor or the response to request is modified or an additional message to another entity is transmitted based upon an analysis of the second portion of the request.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining and communicating prescription benefit coverage information to a prescriber of the product, service, or medication. A prescription benefit check request may be received by the service provider computer from a healthcare provider computer for the prescriber of the product, service, or medication. The service provider computer may format a prescription request for the prescribed product, service, or medication and transmit the prescription request to a pharmacy claims processor computer for processing. The service provider computer may receive a prescription response that includes a determination of the prescription request from the pharmacy claims processor computer.

Abstract: A central fill facility, drug dispensing system and method are provided in order to efficiently and accurately dispense a plurality of different drugs. The drug dispensing system includes a storage system configured to store a plurality of different drugs including a co-located inventory of a respective drug having both a first portion of the inventory of the respective drug to be dispensed pursuant to a predefined program and a second portion of the inventory of the respective drug that is not to be dispensed pursuant to the predefined program. The drug dispensing system also includes the dispensing station and dispensing control circuitry. The dispensing control circuitry is configured to control the dispensing station such that the first portion of the respective predefined program eligible drug is dispensed prior to dispensing the second portion of the respective predefined program ineligible drug.

Each shelf unit extends longitudinally between a first end and a second end. The first end may be configured to receive articles, and the second end may be configured to present articles for retrieval in a retrieval position. Each of the plurality of shelf units is arranged with a respective second end facing a retrieval area. Each of the plurality of shelf units is inclined with the first end being lower than the second end. The apparatus may also include a retrieval device comprising an end-of-arm tool. The retrieval device is disposed within the retrieval area and configured to attach the end-of-arm tool to an article in a retrieval position of each of the plurality of shelf units.

A medical transaction is generated that includes the extracted data and the additional data and formatted in a second predefined format. A response to the medical transaction is then transmitted to a source for display to a user.

Abstract: A tablet counting apparatus and method and an associated control device are provided to ensure that the same type of tablets is transferred from a canister to a counter following the replacement of one canister with another. In addition to the counter and the replaceable canister, the tablet counting apparatus includes a gate that moves between closed and open positions. The tablet counting apparatus further includes a controller configured, following installation of the canister, to provide an authorization command to authorize the gate to be opened by being moved from the closed position to the open position. The tablet counting apparatus additionally includes a timer responsive to the authorization command. The controller is also configured to be responsive to the timer so as no longer provide the authorization command following expiration of the timer to prevent the gate from being subsequently opened if the gate has not already been opened.

Abstract: An improved adherence monitoring system increases the efficiency for obtaining patient adherence information. The improved adherence monitoring system reduces network traffic with regards to the communication of patient adherence information. The improved adherence monitoring system automates an adherence notification pathway. The improved adherence monitoring system can increase patient adherence by increasing the efficiency of medication therapy. The improved adherence monitoring system may also increase the efficiency by which patient adherence information is disbursed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining patient financial responsibility for multiple prescription products across multiple healthcare transactions. A service provider computer can receive multiple healthcare transactions, and can evaluate each to determine if it includes a total group transaction number and a transaction number. The service provider computer can compare the transaction number to the total group transaction number to determine if all transactions within a group have been received. Once received, the transactions can be transmitted to the claims processor computer for adjudication. Upon receiving the adjudicated response for each transaction within the group, the service provider computer can identify the patient co-pay for each of the adjudicated responses in the group and can calculate a total patient pay amount based on the group of patient co-pays. The total patient pay amount may then be transmitted to a healthcare provider computer associated with a healthcare provider.

This example method further includes estimating an anticipated performance of the data modeling platform and generating an optimized tuning template based on the estimated anticipated performance. Finally, this example method further includes automatically executing a performance tuning operation on the data modeling platform. Corresponding apparatuses and computer program products are also provided.

If the action is rejected, a record of the electronic message is created for transmission along with information regarding the rejection. A temporary password is also generated to control access to the record created regarding the electronic message and its rejection. The response includes the temporary password.
