  • Publication number: 20150222125
Abstract: An Ethernet port is configured with a load circuit that reduces costs compared to the conventional Bob-Smith load circuit when providing Power Over Ethernet (POE). A first centertap from a first transformer is coupled to a first side of a first capacitor. A second centertap from a second transformer is coupled to a first side of a second capacitor. The second side of the first and second capacitors is coupled to a common node. The common node forms an electrical midpoint between the two centertaps. An avalanche diode can be placed between the two centertaps in parallel with the two series connected capacitors and power can be injected on the two centertaps to provide POE. A single resistor can be used to provide load termination before a safety capacitor.

  • Patent number: 9097405
Abstract: A light module system includes a receptacle, which may be mounted on a support surface, such as a heat sink, and further includes a cover and an LED assembly rotatably coupled to the cover. The LED assembly seats within the receptacle which causes terminals of the LED assembly to align with contacts on the receptacle. One of the cover and the receptacle has a plurality of ramps and the other has a plurality of shoulders. The cover can be rotated relative to the receptacle to cause the shoulders to slide relative to the ramps so as to direct the LED assembly into the receptacle. When the LED assembly is attached to the receptacle, the terminals on the LED assembly mate with the contacts on the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 9083119
Abstract: A connector is disclosed for use in automotive applications, which has improved retention capabilities. The connector includes a body portion that supports an array of conductive terminals. An outer housing is molded over the body portion and the terminal termination area to form an exterior protective housing of the connector. The protective housing of the connector is provided with a pair of engagement arms formed on the exterior of the protective housing. The arms are connected to the housing at their opposite ends and are formed with an intervening space between them and the housing. The space is configured to provide an outward bias force on the engagement arms such that when the connector is inserted into a receiving frame, the engagement arms are biased outwardly to press against sidewalls of the receiving frame and retain the connector in place therein without the need for additional latches or O-rings.

  • Patent number: 9077107
Abstract: A cable connector assembly is disclosed for use in connecting electronic devices together. The connector has a housing and a mating blade in the form of a paddle card to which wires of a cable are terminated. The connector housing supports a latching mechanism with an actuator that when selectively pulled delatches the latching mechanism from its engagement with the housing of an electronic device. The actuator has an elongated pull tab portion that has a rounded edge for at least three of its four sides. This rounded edge eliminates the sharp corners associated with rectangular or square cross sections of conventional pull tabs, thereby removing stress riser points and giving the pull tab greater resistance against tearing when subjected to torsional loading.
