  • Patent number: 11319140
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a dispensing assembly. The dispensing assembly includes a container having a plurality of exterior panels that define an internal chamber. The exterior panels include at least opposing side panels and a top panel having an opening configured to dispense a plurality of articles therethrough. The dispensing assembly also includes an article dispensing component housed within the internal chamber that includes a base panel arranged with the top panel of the container so as to form an article storage area. The article storage area is configured to receive the plurality of articles. The base panel is biased towards the top panel via at least one flexible member that is secured to at least one of the opposing side panels of the container. Thus, the flexible member is configured to allow movement of the base panel towards to the top panel as each article is dispensed from the opening.

  • Patent number: 11291517
Abstract: A pocket and drape system which provides multiple (e.g., at least two) sterile fields and the methodology for employing said system is provided. The system includes first and second base drape materials each having upper and lower edges edge both extending in a longitudinal direction and first and second side edges both extending in a transverse direction. The first base drape material and the second base drape material also each include a longitudinal fold line. A first zone of pockets is present on a surface of the first base drape material and a second zone of pockets is present on a surface of the second base drape material. The manner in which the base drape materials are folded and joined to each other during assembly (e.g., before sterilization) maintains the sterility of the first and second zone of pockets until each zone is ready for use during a medical procedure.

  • Patent number: 11273233
Abstract: Closure mechanisms and seal integrity indicators for sterilization containers are provided. For example, a closure mechanism comprising at least one handle and at least two arms is provided with a sterilization container lid to apply a more uniform or evenly distributed force to a container gasket. A container body defines an inner lip on which the gasket and lid are received such that the sealing interface is recessed within the container. Further, a seal indicator may indicate whether the container is sufficiently sealed to prevent an ingress of contaminants into the container. If the container is sufficiently sealed, the seal indicator is visible, but if not, the seal indicator is not visible. Thus, the seal indicator undergoes a change in state when the sterilization container transitions from unsealed to sealed, or vice versa, such that a user may ascertain whether the container is properly sealed to maintain the container's sterility.

  • Patent number: 11220362
Abstract: An automated system and method wrap the fastening ties around the body of a continuous stream of facemasks in a facemask production line. The facemasks are oriented such that each facemask has a leading pair of ties and a trailing pair of ties extending from a body in a conveying direction of the production line. The leading pair of ties is drawn below the body as the facemask continues to be conveyed in the conveying. The body is conveyed through a plurality of conveyor sections oriented at angles such that the conveying direction of the body changes at a junction from one conveyor section to an adjacent conveyor section. At the junctions between conveyor sections, an impinging force is directed against the body that causes the body to flip, thereby causing the leading and trailing pairs of ties to further wrap around the body.

  • Patent number: 11059690
Abstract: An automated method and system for stacking and loading wrapped or unwrapped facemasks into a carton in a facemask production line includes conveying individual wrapped facemasks in a continuous stream to a stacking location. At the stacking location, the facemasks are deposited into a vertical accumulator such that the facemasks are stacked in the accumulator. Upon reaching a predetermined fill level of facemasks in the accumulator, a bottom retainer in the accumulator is opened such that the stacked facemasks drop into a carton placed below the accumulator. Upon opening the bottom retainer, a mid-level retainer is actuated in the accumulator that captures facemasks that continue to be deposited into the accumulator at an intermediate height above the bottom retainer. The bottom retainer is closed after the stacked facemasks drop into the carton, and the mid-level retainer is then opened such that the facemasks captured by the mid-level retainer drop onto the bottom retainer.

  • Patent number: 10993494
Abstract: A head cover that can be worn by health care professionals is provided. The head cover includes a surgical cap portion and a bouffant cap portion. The surgical cap portion includes a top surface and a side panel secured to the top surface via a seam. Further, the bouffant cap portion is secured to a rear portion of the side panel, where the bouffant cap portion is maintained against the rear portion of the side panel in an undeployed state and is deployable from the rear portion of the side panel to contain a wearer's hair. As such, the head cover enables a wearer to secure his or her hair inside the bouffant cap as needed, yet bouffant cap portion does not cover the wearer's entire head, which minimizes the amount of heat that is trapped within the head cover and increases the level of comfort for the wearer.

  • Patent number: 10987811
Abstract: An automated system and method wrap the fastening ties around the body of a continuous stream of facemasks in a facemask production line. The facemasks are oriented such that each facemask has a leading pair of ties and a trailing pair of ties extending from a body in a conveying direction of the production line. At a wrapping station in the production line, the body is subsequently clamped with a clamping device of an automated robotic arm. The robotic arm is driven in the conveying direction while rotating the clamping device and body relative to a rotation axis through the body to cause the leading and trailing pairs of ties to wrap around the body. The robotic arm then deposits the facemask with wrapped ties onto the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 10987185
Abstract: The present disclosure provides sterilization containers with features for sealing a volume against an ingress of contaminants. The present disclosure also provides a sterility breach detection system for detecting whether the sterilization container seal has been breached, which potentially could compromise the sterility of any contents of the container. Further, the present disclosure provides a controller system for detecting, tracking, and alerting a user to the state of a sterilization container, such as whether the container seal has been breached. The sterility breach detection system and/or the controller system may utilize a smart gasket to detect breaches in a seal of a sterilization container, and a controller in operative communication with the smart gasket may activate an indicator to alert a user to a detected breach in the seal.

  • Patent number: 10940225
Abstract: Sterilization packaging systems with features for sealing a volume against an ingress of contaminants are provided. Such features include a sealing assembly including a gasket and a sheet of filter material. The sealing assembly seals a lid to a seal rim of a base. The gasket has an upper surface, outer edge, and inner edge. The upper surface of the gasket comprises a first row of alternating protrusions and indentations and a second row of alternating protrusions and indentations that define a channel therebetween. The sheet of filter material extends from an inner edge of the gasket. • Patent number: 10925335
Abstract: Elastomeric articles, such as gloves, made from more than one layer, are provided. The gloves can include a first (grip side) layer in which a first colorant is compounded or integrated and a second (donning side) layer in which a second colorant is compounded or integrated. Alternatively, the gloves can include a translucent first layer and a second layer in which a colorant is compounded or integrated. Either arrangement can enable a breach of the first layer to be more easily detected, either due to the high level of contrast between the first layer and the second when a first colorant and a second colorant are utilized, or due to the translucence of the first layer as compared to the donning side layer, where the intensity of the second layer is increased upon a breach of the translucent first layer.
