  • Patent number: 4604992
Abstract: An endoscope system includes a CCD camera of the line transfer type located at and within the distal end of an endoscope. The camera produces and supplies a video output to a television monitor, thus enabling medical treatment with laser radiation while the affected area is under observation. Illumination of the affected area and laser radiation used for the medical treatment, are blocked at selected intervals to prevent them from impinging upon the CCD camera at least during a period of operation when the camera is in a charge transfer mode.

  • Patent number: 4593312
Abstract: An emission controller for an electronic flash associated with an electronic camera including a solid state pickup element is provided. In response to the closure of a flash photography mode switch which conditions an electronic flash for emission of flashlight, all photodiodes of the solid state pickup element which define the picture elements are uniformly initialized. Subsequently, in response to the closure of an emission initiate switch which initiates the emission of flashlight from an electronic flash, the photodiodes are reset or freed from the initialized condition, and the solid state pickup element begins to be scanned to thereby read out the picture elements at a given time delay after the emission of flashlight from the electronic flash.

  • Patent number: 4561428
Abstract: A suction controller of an endoscope is provided with a valve member made of resilient material on a shiftable tube which is guided by a guide tube disposed within a support tube so that when liquid is fed said valve member is pressed against a valve seat disposed on said support tube with said shiftable tube shifted to break the communication between a suction tube and a channel of the endoscope. As a result, the liquid is no longer drawn into the suction tube during the liquid feeding and the shifting of the shiftable tube is guided by the guide tube, so that the reliable functions of the suction controller can be assured.

  • Patent number: 4543476
Abstract: A focus detector has a photoelectric position sensor which is disposed in a proper focal plane of light beams passing through a pupil splitter having two light transmitting sections which are controllable to be made transparent alternately in an image forming optical system. Output currents from two electrodes of the photoelectric position sensor are processed to derive a signal representing the center of gravity of an image on the position sensor. The signal is compared with the control signal for making the two light transmitting sections transparent alternately for determining an in focus or an out of focus condition and a front focus or a rear focus based on magnitude and direction of change of the signal, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4540549
Abstract: A turntable is arranged rotatably in both directions and a plurality of reaction vessels are arranged along a periphery of the turntable. Along the circumference of turntable are arranged a reagent delivery unit for delivering a given amount of reagent into successive reaction vessels, a sample delivery unit for delivering a given amount of samples into successive reaction vessels and a plurality of photometering units for measuring an absorbance of a test liquid contained in each reaction vessel. The turntable is first rotated in a backward direction by four steps and then is rotated in a forward direction by five steps, so that the turntable is advanced in the forward direction by one step at the end of the forward movement.

  • Patent number: 4537846
Abstract: In an electrophotographic photosensitive device including a conductive layer, a selenium based photoconductive layer and a transparent insulating layer which are sequentially laminated, the conductive layer is formed of an aluminum substrate conductive layer, a zinc conductive layer a copper conductive layer, and silver conductive layer which are sequentially laminated to each other. As a result of this structure, the charge injection characteristic of the photosensitive device during primary charging is improved, and the charge injection preventing characteristic during the simultaneous secondary charging and image exposure steps is sufficiently maintained. The conductive layers contact each other intimately. The electrophotographic photosensitive device is highly humidity durable and exhibits a long life and can obtain high electrostatic contrast.

  • Patent number: 4530591
Abstract: An original conveying apparatus is provided for use in a copying machine having a moving original receptacle which permits a copying from either a sheet original or a thick material. A thick material receptacle is integrally formed with a sheet original drive. A sheet original is conveyed by the sheet original drive while the receptacle is maintained at its home position. A thick material is conveyed by a reciprocatory movement of the receptacle from its home position, without previously changing its position. The sheet original drive can be smoothly engaged with or disengaged from a transmission system.

  • Patent number: 4530550
Abstract: A power supply unit for electronic flash includes a plurality of charging units connected to a main capacitor of an electronic flash through diodes which prevent a reverse current flow. Each charging unit includes a d.c. source and a booster converter. An efficient utilization of the source battery is attained by reducing loading upon each source. The use of components of reduced capacity enables a reduction in the size of the overall unit. A single power switch enables a simultaneous initiation of the charging of the main capacitor by all of the charging units. When the main capacitor is charged to a given value, disable means are simultaneously operated in response to an output from charging voltage detecting means, thus simultaneously ceasing the charging operation of the charging units.
