The container assembly has a bin defining a cavity, a lid, a telescopingly extensible handle assembly, a locking mechanism, a pair of wheels, and a pair of bottom handles. The lid is rotatably coupled to the bin at a pivot point, has a generally horizontal lid axis of rotation, and is movable relative to the bin between an open position providing access to the cavity and a closed position inhibiting access to the cavity. The extensible handle assembly is located adjacent the pivot point and is movable from a lower retracted position to an upper extended position above an upper surface of the lid. The locking mechanism maintains the lid in the closed position and is located opposite the extensible handle assembly. The wheels are located at the bottom of the refuse container. The bottom handles are located on opposing sides of the bin.

Abstract: The present invention provides a top frame made from a thermoset foam material. The top frame includes a pair of substantially parallel sides and a pair of substantially parallel ends connected to the sides to form a generally rectangular frame structure. The frame structure has an inner layer and outer surface defining a thickness. The thermoset foam material varies in density along the frame structure thickness such that the density of the thermoset foam material is greatest near the frame structure outer surface to form a hard outer shell.

Abstract: A bulk bin container having a first side wall, a second side wall, a third side wall and a fourth side wall, where the first side wall is removable when the container is set up. The first side wall includes a removable hinge element. The first side wall also includes structure on a first side edge of the first side wall and second side edge of the first side wall that mates with corresponding structure on adjacent side walls and allows for the first side wall to be lifted straight upward and removed from the container upon removal of the removable hinge element.

The lid includes a gravity activated locking mechanism having a latch that engages the lid to the body when the container is in an upright position. The locking mechanism rotates to disengage the latch and allow the lid to open when the container is inverted for dumping the waste. The waste container further including a slideable member that is engageable with a locking member when the container is not in an upright position or inverted for dumping, to prevent rotation of the locking mechanism and opening of the lid.
