Abstract: A method of manufacturing a plastic covered highvoltage cable by passing an electrical conductor through two successive separate extrusion heads. In the first extrusion head a conductor shield layer is extruded around said conductor as well as a thin auxiliary insulation layer around the conductor shield layer. In the second extrusion head a main insulation layer is extruded around the auxiliary insulation layer as well as, if preferable, a corona shield layer around the main insulation layer. The auxiliary insulation layer is of the same or electrically equivalent material as the main insulation layer. The auxiliary insulation layer prevents the formation of plastics burr on the surface of the conductor shield layer from during the first extrusion.
Abstract: In a tissue paper making machine, a method for dewatering a tissue web without wet pressing and transferring the web onto a flow through drying cylinder including conducting a tissue web onto a pick-up fabric formed of felt and dewatering the web, without wet pressing, into the pick-up felt through the application of suction and capillary forces until the web has sufficient dry matter content to be passed to a flow through drying cylinder. The web is transferred to a flow through wire which passes over the web carrying pick-up felt at a suction roller by the application of suction over a narrow zone, the web being secured to the flow through wire by the application of additional suction over a broader suction zone.

Abstract: A flotation purification apparatus for separating solids from solids-containing liquids. The apparatus comprises a flotation tank, an annular distributing channel positioned in said tank for supplying the liquid to be purified into said tank and an upwardly widening partition wall positioned in said tank and separating the distributing chamber from outlets for the solids and the purified liquid respectively. The distributing channel is provided with outlets directed toward the corner between the bottom of said tank and said partition wall.
Abstract: A method and apparatus in a paper making machine for transferring a web from a pick-up fabric to a flow-through drying wire for transport of the wire supported web to a flow-through dryer cylinder including passing a section of the flow-through drying wire over the web supported by the pick-up fabric thereby defining a sandwich structure of the drying wire, the web and the pick-up fabric. A first vacuum is applied by a first vacuum member on the sandwich structure from the flow-through drying wire side over a narrow first detaching zone. The direction of the pick-up fabric with respect to the flow-through drying wire is deviated and a second vacuum is applied by a second vacuum member over a second detaching zone subsequent to the first detaching zone in the direction of web travel from the drying wire side thereof thereby securing the web on the flow-through drying wire. The pick-up fabric may thus comprise either a felt or wire structure.
Abstract: An apparatus for continuous curing (vulcanization) of elongated products, such as cables comprising a conductor surrounded by a mantle of a crosslinkable material. The cable is passed longitudinally through a curing tube in which the cable is first subjected to heating in a heating zone for heating the cable to curing temperature and subsequently subjected to cooling. The heating of the cable in the heating zone is carried out by means of heat radiation in a pressurized gas atmosphere and the cooling of the cable in the cooling zone is carried out in the presence of a gas under pressure so that heat is transferred from the heated cable in the cooling zone partially by radiation to the cooled wall of the tube and partly by convection to said cooled gas.
Abstract: An angle piece for a contact rail of U-shaped section and provided with longitudinal conductors. The L-shaped angle piece can be pushed into the groove of two contact rails forming an angle between them, thereby establishing contact between the conductors of the two rails via contact fingers provided on an installation component of the angle piece supported by a body portion. The installation component can be shifted in relation to the body portion diagonally so as to adjust the relative position of the contact fingers to flanks of the body portion.
Abstract: An apparatus for continuous curing (vulcanization) of elongated products, such as cables comprising a conductor surrounded by a mantle of a crosslinkable material. The apparatus comprises a curing tube through which the cable is passed longitudinally. The curing tube comprises a heating zone in which the cable is subjected to heating for heating the cable to curing temperature in a pressurized gas atmosphere and a subsequent cooling zone in which the cured cable is subjected to cooling. The curing tube is coupled to at least one electric currency source so that the wall of the curing tube is heated due to the electric resistance of the wall material to form within the heating zone a heated mantle uniformly surrounding the cable and radiating heat thereto.

Abstract: A current collector to be engaged with a conductor rail and specifically to desired conductors thereof, which collector comprises a box-like frame of an insulating material, in which at least three contact fingers are movably arranged so that at least two of said fingers may be brought simultaneously from a retracted position inside the frame to a position protruding from the frame to engage the conductors in the conductor rail, said fingers being operated by a camshaft member slidable in its axial direction and turnable around its axis and provided with cams to engage the fingers, the cams being so positioned that, at turning of the camshaft member, a desired pair of contact fingers, depending on the axial position of the camshaft member, is brought into contact with the corresponding conductors of the conductor rail. Preferably, the collector frame further comprises a turning lever connected to and allowing axial movement of the camshaft member.
Abstract: An electric current supply conduit comprising a metal support rail of substantially U-shaped cross-section forming an open longitudinal channel. The support rail is provided with longitudinally extending current conductors fastened at the opposite side walls of the support rail. The ends of the current conductors are bent to project angularly, preferably perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal direction of the support rail inwardly into said open channel of the support rail.
