  • Patent number: 5347805
Abstract: A two-for-one twisting spindle with a compressed air operated threading device is provided. The thread is feed via a jet of compressed air through a thread feeding channel of a thread storage disk. At the outer opening of the thread feeding channel a first deflecting surface is provided which is attached to the underside of the turntable. The first deflecting surface is provided with a upwardly curved second deflecting surface which is essentially convex. These constructive measures at the outer opening of the thread feeding channel ensure that the jet of compressed air exiting from the outer opening of the thread feeding channel has a certain vertical width h and that the radius of curvature R of the second deflecting surface is such that the ratio of the radius of curvature to the width h corresponds to R/h.gtoreq.3. This ensures that the jet of compressed air is deflected in an upward direction essentially vertically with the aid of the so-called Coanda effect.

  • Patent number: 5329755
Abstract: A textile yarn processing machine has a plurality of spindle assemblies for processing of yarn. Each spindle assembly includes mechanisms for forming a balloon of yarn which rotates around a spindle assembly central axis as the yarn travels through the spindle assembly during processing and a balloon limiter device surrounding the rotating balloon of yarn and having a generally cylindrical inside surface for frictional contact with the rotating balloon of yarn to restrict the size thereof. Devices are provided which reduce frictional contact between the rotating balloon of yarn and the inside surface of the balloon limiter so as to avoid the necessity of the use of lubricators on the yarn.

  • Patent number: 5288040
Abstract: A device for exchanging data between a plurality of rail-supported movable automatic manipulating units for operating a plurality of textile machines with multiple workstations and a common central unit comprises a rail system and a lead system connected to the rail system. The lead system comprises at least two and at most three data-transmitting leads that serve exclusively for data transmission in addition to supply leads for supplying electric current to the automatic manipulating units. The data-transmitting leads form a ring conduit to which the sending and receiving devices of the central unit as well as the sending and receiving devices of the automatic manipulating units are connected via additional sliding contacts. Data are sent from the sending and receiving devices in the form of impulses with a predetermined duration at predetermined intervals and each data impulse is simultaneously guided to two leads with opposite polarity.

  • Patent number: 5248103
Abstract: A method and a device for feeding and clamping a thread in a thread winding device for textile machines are provided. The thread winding device comprises a bobbin frame with two legs to which two centering disks are rotatably connected. Between the centering disks the bobbins are received. One of the centering disks is outwardly pivotable together with the leg it is attached to against the force of a spring. The other centering disk is tiltably mounted at the respective leg of the bobbin frame. The feeding of the beginning of the thread to the bobbin is carried out via a forked gripping arm. One of the arms of the fork carries a clamping element for the beginning of the thread while the other arm is provided with an auxiliary roller. The gripping arm approaches the centering disk such that the auxiliary roller contacts the outer surface of the centering disk at an edge thereof and a lateral pressure is exerted onto the centering disk which results in a tilting movement of the centering disk.
