Abstract: An article for holding and displaying a neck tie that includes a narrow end and an opposite broad pointed end includes a base portion and an insert. The base portion has a compartment for receiving and holding the folded neck tie and is open along a top thereof. The insert has a pair of upstanding leg portions and a top wall that extends between the upstanding leg portions. The top wall has a pointed slit formed therein that defines a depressable tab portion. The insert is inserted into the base portion such that the folded neck tie is disposed between the upstanding leg portions and a space is formed between a first end of the insert and one end wall of the base portion through which the neck tie extends. The neck tie is folded across the top wall and through the slit such that the broad pointed end of the tie is disposed with the compartment of the base portion underneath the insert.

Abstract: A retail display includes a first box that includes a hollow first compartment for receiving and holding an item and a shirt that is folded and disposed within the first compartment. The display further includes a second box that is smaller than the first box and is disposed within the first compartment adjacent the folded shirt, with the second box having a base portion that includes a hollow second compartment. A neck tie is disposed within the second compartment of the second box. The neck tie includes a narrow end and an opposite broad pointed end. A transparent cover extends across and covers the first and second compartments and allows the shirt and tie to be seen by a consumer.

Abstract: A shirt box suitable for receiving a shirt includes a base, a box cover and a transparent protective member (insert). The base has a floor and a plurality of upstanding walls that define an interior compartment and the box cover has a top wall and a plurality of walls that surround the top wall (e.g., around a peripheral edge thereof). The top surface has a first opening formed therein that is formed at a location that permits a consumer to see the shirt or other item that is contained within the box. The transparent protective member (insert) has a top surface and a plurality of peripheral walls that surround the top surface (e.g., around a peripheral edge thereof) so as to define a structure that is free standing and independent from both the base and the cover.

Abstract: A reversible necktie according to one embodiment includes first and second fabric pieces that have matching necktie shapes. Each of the fabric pieces has a finished face side, a wide end, longitudinal edges and a narrow end. The fabric pieces are superimposed in mating relationship with the finished sides facing outward, wherein each of the first and second fabric pieces is formed of a first section that has a first appearance and a second section that has a second appearance that is visually different from the first appearance. The first and second sections are joined together along a seam. The first section of first fabric piece overlies the second section of the second fabric piece and the second section of the first fabric piece overlies the first section of the first fabric piece.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a retail display includes a first box having walls that define a first interior compartment. The walls include a top wall that is formed of a transparent material to permit viewing of the first interior compartment. The display also includes an inner box that is open along a top thereof and is disposed within the first interior compartment. The inner box partitions the interior compartment into a first section and a second section where the inner box is disposed. The inner box has a second interior compartment. The retail display includes a first article of clothing disposed within the first section, wherein the degree of movement of the first article of clothing is limited by walls of the first box and the vertical side wall of the inner box. A second article of clothing is disposed within the second interior compartment of the inner box.

Abstract: A substantially transparent box is constructed and arranged to include a collared shirt and a necktie in arrangement relative to one another and disposed such that these clothing articles are in registry with a hole in the box. The box comprises a single sheet of substantially transparent plastic having a series of first and second panels each being defined by respective folds. Selected first panels are bonded to another to define a hollow central cavity for the box, whereas selected second panels are folded to define peripheral ends for the box. The hollow cavity is sized to receive the shirt and necktie. The shirt and necktie are optionally arranged with bands that maintain a prescribed relative position to each other and to the box.

Abstract: According to one exemplary embodiment, a necktie includes a front tie material of elongated shape having first and second end portions including tips and first and second tipping pieces having a periphery complementary to the first and second end portions, respectively. The tipping pieces are peripherally stitched to the first and second end portions so as to form first and second pockets and the tie includes a lining in which end portions thereof extend into the first and second pockets. The first tipping piece and the first end portion of the front tie material are folded along first and second fold lines that are located adjacent the periphery of the lining and along third and fourth fold lines that are located spaced from and further from the lining than the first and second fold lines to cause the first tipping piece and first end portion to be folded over itself and form a pair of once-folded sections.

Abstract: A display unit for combining a fabric fashion accessory such as a necktie to jewelry such as cufflinks includes a substrate having first and second panels arranged along an axis, a pair of first flaps attached to the first panel and being pivotally mounted in a direction generally parallel to the axis, a fold at the union of the first and second panels, a first hole disposed proximate to or at the fold in the substrate, a securement that holds the first and second panels to one another and a hanger seated in the first hole comprising a hook and a downwardly depending neck, and a pair of second holes extending through only one of the at least first and second panels which is sized to receive a stem of the jewelry. A method for combining jewelry and a fabric fashion is provided as well.
