    Abstract: An article for holding and displaying a neck tie that includes a narrow end and an opposite broad pointed end includes a base portion and an insert. The base portion has a compartment for receiving and holding the folded neck tie and is open along a top thereof. The insert has a pair of upstanding leg portions and a top wall that extends between the upstanding leg portions. The top wall has a pointed slit formed therein that defines a depressable tab portion. The insert is inserted into the base portion such that the folded neck tie is disposed between the upstanding leg portions and a space is formed between a first end of the insert and one end wall of the base portion through which the neck tie extends. The neck tie is folded across the top wall and through the slit such that the broad pointed end of the tie is disposed with the compartment of the base portion underneath the insert.

The fabric pieces are superimposed in mating relationship with the finished sides facing outward, wherein each of the first and second fabric pieces is formed of a first section that has a first appearance and a second section that has a second appearance that is visually different from the first appearance. The first and second sections are joined together along a seam. The first section of first fabric piece overlies the second section of the second fabric piece and the second section of the first fabric piece overlies the first section of the first fabric piece.

The first tipping piece and the first end portion of the front tie material are folded along first and second fold lines that are located adjacent the periphery of the lining and along third and fourth fold lines that are located spaced from and further from the lining than the first and second fold lines to cause the first tipping piece and first end portion to be folded over itself and form a pair of once-folded sections.
