    Abstract: A method of determining the actual position of a track relative to a fixed point located in a lateral vicinity of the track by using a registering device being mobile on the track includes surveying the position of the fixed point relative to the track. The registering device is moved along the track, image pairs of the lateral vicinity of the track are continuously recorded by a stereo camera system on the registering device and the fixed point is searched for in the image pairs by pattern recognition carried out in an evaluation device. Upon recognition of the fixed point, the position of the fixed point relative to the track is determined by evaluating at least one image pair. This creates the possibility of surveying fixed points in passing with the configuration of the fixed point not being bound to any special form. A measuring system is also provided.

    Abstract: A welding unit for welding together two rails of a track includes two rail clamping assemblies which can be moved towards one another in a longitudinal direction of the rail along unit guides by compression cylinders. Each rail clamping assembly is equipped with clamping jaws which are displaceable in pairs in a pressing plane and each of which has a contact surface provided for application to a rail web. The clamping jaws are each constructed as clamping levers which are pivotable in the pressing plane about a lever pivot axis. The contact surface intended for application to the rail web is disposed at a first lever end spaced apart from the lever pivot axis. The two contact surfaces of each rail clamping assembly are each positioned closer to the oppositely disposed rail clamping assembly than the two lever pivot axes.

Subsequently, a new track panel pre-deposited on the work train is placed by the crane jib on the graded ballast of the gap end. A work train for renewal of a track is also provided.

A ring-shaped recess is provided between the two sliding or gliding surfaces which are spaced from one another in the axial direction. A spacer ring, which subdivides the ring-shaped recess into two fluid channels, is connected selectively to the inner or outer cylinder. The fluid channels are spaced from one another relative to the axial direction. The two fluid channels can be hydraulically actuated alternatingly by feed lines for vibration excitation.

The new sleepers (27) are laid down on the cleaned ballast bed and connected to the new rails (29) lifted off the ballast bed (3).
