Abstract: The present invention provides, in one embodiment, an awning that permits light and air to enter the structure to which the awning is attached, that can be utilized to protect against major storms, and that can pass strict building code standards testing. The awning includes a perimeter framework that is adapted to receive a removable rigid support plate. In an alternate embodiment, the invention provides a shutter that is inexpensive, easy and quick to manufacture, that can provide protection against major storms, and that can pass strict building code standards testing. The shutter includes modular louver sections that have an integral rigid backing plate.
Abstract: An aerial ropeway wherein oppositely located first and second sheave trains are supported on a crossarm wherein first and second sheave train supporting apparatus are pivotally mounted at fixed spaced apart locations on the crossarm and the first and second sheave train supporting apparatus are each pivotally connected to an elongated member extending therebetween.
Abstract: A device for guiding a carrier roller (3, 4, 5, 6) on a vehicle part, this roller running about a shaft (16) on a predetermined track such as a rail, comprising, integrated into the said vehicle part, such as the chassis of a rail vehicle:
Abstract: A switching device for ground-effect vehicles, the said device comprising at least three sections of guidance and support tracks for the entry and exit of the vehicles, at least one of these tracks being the vehicle entry track, the said device comprising at least one support surface able to move between at least two positions, each of the said positions corresponding to a path by which the vehicles cross the switching device, the support surfaces of the sections of guide tracks being, for each path, in continuity with the movable support surface or surfaces.
Abstract: An improved folding marker for an agricultural implement that is partially self-supporting in the use position and during a portion of the folding operation. An inner arm is pivotally attached to the agricultural implement for simultaneous movement in both the horizonal and vertical directions. A caster wheel is attached to the inner arm to support the inner arm above the ground. An outer arm is pivotally attached to the inner arm for movement in a generally vertical direction. A marker device is attached to the outer arm for scoring the ground. An actuator is attached to the implement and the back portion of the inner arm for moving the inner arm between the use position and backwards toward the rear of the implement to a transport position. A series of pulley systems are attached to the marker so that the inner and outer arms raise vertically upward when the inner arm is moved from the use position to the transport position, and vice versa.
Abstract: A sheave support system for supporting the sheaves of a multiple sheave assembly relative to a support structure, such as a ski lift tower, which comprises at least two sheave members rotatably mounted on the sheave assembly in spaced parallel relationship for supporting the ski lift cable; at least one main support shaft for movably supporting the sheave assembly relative to the ski lift tower; at least two intermediate support arms mounted on the main support shaft; and at least two intermediate support shafts mounted on opposite ends of the intermediate support arm for rotatably supporting the sheave. The support shaft means comprises a support shaft, a hub member mounted circumjacent the support shaft, and an elastic bushing device mounted between the support shaft and the hub member for connecting the hub member to the shaft member while enabling limited relative rotative movement therebetween of less than approximately 15 degrees and also limiting transmission of vibration therebetween.
Abstract: A safety device for a vehicle sliding door which detects any obstacle hindering the door closing movement and which cannot injure a passenger struck by the door. The door closing force is limited to a non dangerous value and the door comprises a tongue groove joint surrounded by a flexible lip joint. An obstacle is first struck by the flexible lips and only after retraction of these lips by the tongue. The presence of this obstacle hinders the penetration of the tongue into the groove and the closing of the door.
Abstract: The invention relates to an anti-collision device for passive vehicles. The anti-collision device is governed by the means for driving the vehicles associated with the track to monitor continuously that the distance separating two successive vehicles is greater than the emergency braking distance of the following vehicle. The device is applicable to a transport installation with a line track.Refer to FIG. 1.
Abstract: Transport installation comprising individual passive vehicles each equipped with a triple grip for coupling the vehicle to a main haulage cable extending along the track or to auxiliary haulage cables for instance acceleration and deceleration cables in a station. One pair of jaws of the grip is open when the two other pairs of jaws are in the coupling position and inversely. A change of cable operation is effected by a single control and the gauge of the grip is maintained small to permit its passing between the guide sheaves of the cables.
