    Abstract: A problem of the invention is to provide a method which targets on polyethylene terephthalate-made bottle scraps composed mainly of polyethylene and/or polypropylene, polystyrene and a polyester and which is able to treat continuously a large amount of the polyester component with a high purity and sort and recover it in a high recovery. The problem of the invention can be solved by a separation method of waste plastics, which is characterized by forming previously a crushed plastic into a water slurry, feeding the water slurry in a fixed rate range such that a swirling flow is generated within a cylindrical tank and that water rises in a fixed rate range and recovering a polyester with a high specific gravity as a precipitated component within the cylindrical tank and a plastic with a low specific gravity as an overflow component from the top of the cylindrical tank, respectively.

    Abstract: The islands-in-sea type composite fiber of the present invention comprises a sea part containing an easily soluble polymer and 100 or more island parts containing a hardly soluble polymer, per fiber. In a cross-sectional profile of the composite fiber, each of the island parts has a thickness in the range of from 10 to 1,000 nm and the intervals between the island parts adjacent to each other are 500 nm or less. The islands-in-sea type composite fiber is produced by melt spinning the sea part polymer and the island part polymer mentioned above through a spinneret for an islands-in-sea type composite fiber and taking up the spun fiber at a speed of 400 to 6,000 m/min. Dissolution and removal of the sea part polymer from the composite fiber gives a group of fine fibers having a thickness of 10 to 1,000 rim and useful for clothing, industrial materials and other applications.

    Abstract: The polyester false-twist textured yarn of the present invention has a sheath part encapsulating an antistatic component, and is not susceptive to deformation of the false-twist, therefore a little fluff in false-twist texturing occurs.
