  • Patent number: 4077675
Abstract: In an antilocking control system in which wheel speed is monitored to control a braking operation in a manner to prevent locking of the braked wheels, a tendency of the wheel velocity to decrease more rapidly than a reference rate acts to reduce the brake pressure, and a subsequent tendency of the wheel velocity to increase acts to either hold constant or to gradually increase the brake pressure.

  • Patent number: 4077217
Abstract: A two-circuit master cylinder unit for brakes includes first and second cylinders and first and second pistons slidably received in the first and second cylinders, respectively. The first piston is actuated by an external force for pressurizing hydraulic fluid in the first cylinder. The second piston is exposed to a pressure which depends upon the pressure generated in the first cylinder. A shackle device which couples the first and second pistons to one another, allows a relative axial displacement of predetermined magnitude between the first and second pistons. A switching device is operatively connected to the shackle device and is actuated when the predetermined magnitude of relative displacement between the pistons is reached. A warning device is operatively connected to the switching device and responds when the switching device is actuated.

  • Patent number: 4053188
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for providing the reference value for generating the slip signals used to control the brake pressure in an antilocking control system for the wheel brakes of a vehicle, from the value of two wheel speed signals. A selector circuit feeds the wheel signal with the greater value to a memory to cause the memory to store this greater value as a reference value. A comparison circuit compares the values of each of the two wheel speed signals with the value stored in the memory and emits respective output signals whenever the value of either of the wheel speed signals exceeds or falls below the value stored in the memory. A logic circuit, which is responsive to the output signals from the comparison circuit and to signals indicating that the pressure control devices associated with the wheels from which the wheel speed signals are derived have responded, causes the reference value stored in the memory to be selectively varied according to one of a plurality of different time constants.

  • Patent number: 4005910
Abstract: An antilocking control system for vehicles in which control signals for controlling a pressure regulating unit associated with two wheels or two groups of wheels are produced in an evaluating circuit from the signals of at least one sensor associated with these wheels or groups of wheels and in which the pressure is at times controlled based on the rotational behavior of the wheel first tending to lock (select-low) and at times based on the rotational behavior of the wheel being the last to show a tendency to lock (select-high). During the select-low mode of operation the duration T.sub.1 of the pressure buildup phase following a pressure reduction phase is measured until there again occurs a tendency to lock at at least one wheel and then the mode of operation is switched to the select-high mode. During the select-high mode of operation the duration T.sub.2 of the pressure increase period is measured and the result is continuously compared with the measured duration (T.sub.
