  • Patent number: 5995842
Abstract: A release is carried out by PP transmitting CC-person who belongs to a radio system with a short range, for example a wireless telephony system, can be temporarily transferred as guest into a second wireless telephony system. When the user moves to a second communications system, he identifies himself in it as a guest. Information relating to the temporary address of the relevant person is transferred to his home system. An incoming call to the person in question is received by the home system which forwards the call to the system in which the person sought is temporarily registered. The caller is then notified that a call is coming in by a call signal being originated. The called party then answers the call and a normal call is set up. With an outgoing call, signals are transferred from the caller to the network which registers who is establishing the call.

  • Patent number: 5953672
Abstract: The present invention relates to a radio-based mobile short-range communication system SRC, comprising a transmitting and receiving unit. The receiving units are offered information from the transmitting units from a number of information providers. The information providers offer information within one or more predetermined subject fields. The receiving unit selects a desired information and obtains this information presented via a presentation element. The transmitting unit transfers a protocol divided into a number of main divisions. For each information provider, the protocol is divided into a number of subdivisions, one of which indicates different subject fields. The subject fields constitute headings for different subject categories which are presented in a number of octets. Each subject field is represented by one bit which is set to 0 when the information provider does not have any information to deliver within the subject field and, respectively, to 1 for information which is provided.

  • Patent number: 5909650
Abstract: A device and a procedure for a telecommunications system that makes possible the introduction of a general personal telephone number which functions in both fixed and mobile networks as well as in cordless access systems connected to these networks. A condition for this personal number is a central network node located at, or in connection to, these telecommunications networks (7), preferably PSTN, ISDN, GSM, NMT, without influencing network functions, numbering schemes, terminals in these networks. For a call to a subscriber located in any telecommunications network, the call, independent of from which telecommunications network the call emanates, is connected to this central network node which converts the received personal number to the specific number corresponding to the telecommunications network at which the subscriber has registered himself/herself, whereafter said network node executes connection of the call to the current access point which corresponds to the specific number.

  • Patent number: 5826234
Abstract: A device and method in which polyphones of speech of a first language is received and stored as well as a movement pattern in a person's face and/or body is registered. The registration of the movement pattern is made by measuring movement at a number of measuring points in the face/body of the speaker, where the measurements are made at the same time that the polyphones are registered. In connection with translation of a person's speech from one language into another, the polyphones and corresponding movement patterns in the face are linked up to a movement model in the face. A picture image of a face of the real person is after that pasted over the model, at which one to the language corresponding movement pattern is obtained. The invention consequently gives the impression that the person really speaks the language in question.

  • Patent number: 5812523
Abstract: A method of demultiplexing OFDM signals and a receiver for such signals. More particularly the method is concerned with synchronization in an OFDM receiver. A signal is read into a synchronization unit, in the time domain, i.e., before fourier transforming the signal by means of an FFT processor. In the synchronization unit, a frame clock is derived for triggering the start of the FFT process and for controlling the rate at which data is supplied to the FFT processor. For OFDM reception, it is vital that the FFT process commences at the right point in time. Once the frame clock has been recovered, a frequency error can be estimated by the synchronization unit. The frequency error is used to control; an oscillator which generates a complex rotating vector which is, in turn, multiplied with the signal to compensate for frequency errors. The method can be used both with OFDM systems in which symbols are separated by guard spaces, and with OFDM systems in which symbols are pulse shaped.

  • Patent number: 5809469
Abstract: A method and device for inputting characters. An answering equipment, Ts, answers a call from a terminal equipment, Te. The answering equipment transmits a sequence of characters which can consist of letters, digits or other characters. The information is transmitted via the telecommunications network to the terminal equipment where the information is read out in a loudspeaker which is listened to by a subscriber. When the subscriber hears the character in question being read, he/she presses a key on the terminal equipment. The key can be one of the keys on the ordinary keypad of twelve keys on the telephone. The signal passes to the answering equipment where it is identified and registers that the character in question shall be stored in a data base, DB. The data base stores the character and combines the other characters which are input, and predicts which possible words or character combinations remain, depending on application.

  • Patent number: 5806033
Abstract: A method and device for speech-to-text conversion. From a given speech, the fundamental tone is extracted. A model of the speech is further created from the speech. In the model, a duration reproduction in words and sentences is obtained. The duration reproduction is compared with a segment duration in the speech. Information which decides which type of accent exists is obtained from the comparison from which a text with sentence accent information is produced. Further, in creating the model lexical information, which may indicate accents in words, can be utilized. Syntax analysis of the model can further by utilized to model a fundamental tone in a sentence. Such operations allow the re-recognition utilizing the accent and stress after a decision as to the type of accent which exists.
