  • Publication number: 20100143975
Abstract: Monoterpenoid esters that have been modified to include a sugar pendant group are disclosed. Plant glycosyltransferase enzymes are provided that function to add a sugar, typically glucose, to monoterpenoids in a bioreactor for the production of glycosylated monoterpenoid esters, together with nucleic acid molecules encoding such enzymes and vectors and transgenic cells including such nucleic acid molecules.

  • Publication number: 20100127170
Abstract: Provided is a Schottky emitter having the conical end with a radius of curvature of 2.0 ?m on the emission side of an electron beam. Since a radius of curvature is 1 ?m or more, a focal length of an electron gun can be longer than in a conventional practice wherein a radius of curvature is in the range of from 0.5 ?m to not more than 0.6 ?m. The focal length was found to be roughly proportional to the radius of the curvature. Since the angular current intensity (the beam current per unit solid angle) is proportional to square of the electron gun focal length, the former can be improved by an order of magnitude within a practicable increase in the emitter radius. A higher angular current intensity means a larger beam current available from the electron gun and the invention enables the Schottky emitters to be used in applications which require relatively high beam current of microampere regime such as microfocus X-ray tube, electron probe micro-analyzer, and electron beam lithography system.

  • Patent number: 7689043
Abstract: A camera A produces a 3D natural image B which is re-oriented and repositioned at N to predetermined parameters. Different processes C, D, E extract different features from the image to provide different processed images. The data space occupied by the processed images is reduced, for example by Principle Component Analysis, at F, G, H and the reduced processed images are combined at O to provide an image key I representative of the image B. The image key I is compared at J with stored image keys L of known images, and the output comparison is sorted at K to produce a final list M of potential matches. In a verification process, just a single image key L may be compared. The processed images at C, D, E may alternatively be combined prior to a single subspace reduction and/or optimisation method. 2D data may be combined with or used instead of the 3D data.

  • Patent number: 7065517
Abstract: An input device receives sets of input data to be stored in a correlation matrix memory. A sampler derives, from each set of input data, a respective set of tuples, and a coder codes each of the tuples, which are then combined for the respective set of input data. A separator generator generates for each set of input data a respective, associated, unique separator, which is stored with its respective set of input data. For each set of input data, the respective combined coded tuples and the respective unique separator are applied to the correlation matrix memory as a row address and as a column address, or vice-versa.
