  • Patent number: 6585494
Abstract: Variable-capacity control is reliably carried out without using a large pressure control valve while maintaining sufficient pressure resistance in a refrigerating cycle in which carbon dioxide is used as its coolant. A pressure sensor for measuring the pressure on the low pressure side of this refrigerating cycle is used. The electromagnetic coil of the pressure control valve is controlled so that the measured pressure approaches the target value. Low pressure is applied equally to both ends in the direction of movement of the valve disc of the pressure control valve, so that the valve disc can be moved by a light load, and hence the size of the electromagnetic coil can be small.

  • Patent number: 6579167
Abstract: A door and housing assembly for controlling air flow through the housing. The housing is adapted to be mounted in a ventilating system for controlling the direction and flow of air passing through the system. The door is actuated to move between two end positions where the respective air pathways are each sealed. The door can be positioned at any location between the end positions to control air flowing to the respective air pathways. The door includes guide pins on edges thereof that move along slots located in the inner sidewalls of the housing and guide the door between its end positions to locate the door in selected intermediate positions thereof. The slots for guiding the door may be steeply angled with respect to the seals so as to create minimal wiping of the respective seals upon engagement and dis-engagement between the door and seals at end positions of door travel.

  • Patent number: 6560977
Abstract: An HVAC evaporator core temperature probe apparatus and assembly method in which the temperature probe has a seal member mounted intermediate opposed ends. First and second apertures are formed in the HVAC housing, one adjacent the mounted position of the probe sensing end and the other end spaced from the access aperture and receiving the seal member to dispose the electrical connector on the other end of the probe conductor exteriorly of the housing. The temperature probe is inserted in the evaporator prior to mounting the evaporator core in the HVAC housing. The seal member is snap mounted in the first aperture in the housing to dispose the electrical connector exteriorly of the housing. After separation of the probe sensing end from the evaporator core and separation of the seal member from the first aperture, an existing temperature probe is removable through the second aperture in the housing.

  • Patent number: 6273184
Abstract: In a parallel integrated heat exchanger achieved by joining a plurality of heat exchangers with their heat exchanging units facing opposite each other and integrated fins formed to be shared by adjacent heat exchangers, performance-improving louvers 31a and 32a are formed between the tubes of the individual heat exchangers and heat transfer prevention louvers 32b are formed over the entire area between the tubes 3 of a condenser 5 and the tubes 7 of a radiator 9. The heat transfer prevention louvers 32b are formed continuous to, at least, the performance-improving louvers 32a formed at one of the heat exchangers. The heat transfer prevention louvers 32b and the performance-improving louvers 32a formed continuously are made to incline along the same direction. By forming the heat transfer prevention louvers over the area of fins located between the tubes of one of the adjacent heat exchangers and the tubes of the other heat exchanger in a specific manner, the manufacturing process is facilitated.
