Abstract: A cremation urn includes a base and a lid. The base has a wall defining an opening through the wall. The wall has an internal surface and an external surface. The wall defines a rim. The lid includes a cover for engagement with the base and an integral catch. The catch includes a protrusion extending from the cover and sized to fit into the opening to selectively secure the lid to the base. The protrusion includes a wall engaging surface for engaging the wall and an external surface extending from the wall engaging surface in a direction opposed to the cover, the wall engaging surface having a width less than a length of the external surface in a direction opposed to the cover.

In general, the lid in the first configuration is detached and inverted with respect to the second configuration, particularly when the lid is closed in the second configuration.

Abstract: A method of molding a flange uses a first tool element and a second opposing tool element. The first tool element defines a negative of at least a portion of a first side of a flange, and the second tool element defines a negative of at least a portion of the second side of the flange. The method includes providing a set of blocks for insertion into a plurality of recesses in the second tool element, the set of blocks insertable in a plurality of configurations, each configuration defining a negative of a set of retention features on the second side of the flange. The plurality of configurations define differing configurations of retention features on the second side. The method also includes inserting at least some blocks into the second tool element to form a selected one of the plurality of configurations, and performing injection molding using the first tool element and the second tool element.

The grooves widen near the upper portion of the side panels and are partially covered by a top panel. The rental casket system may further include a tray assembly that may be used as part of a cremation casket. The tray has short side walls and an inner assembly that prevents contact with a deceased when handholds in the tray assembly are used to move the tray assembly. The tray assembly includes side walls that are movably attached to end walls. Lids are provided with the tray so that the tray may also be used as an identification tray.

Abstract: An assemblable body board is formed from a blank made from a sheet of a bendable or foldable material, such as fiberboard. The blank includes a center panel, opposite side panels and opposite end panels, wherein the side and end panels are foldable to form a rectangular construct at the bottom face of the center panel. Each side and end panel includes a reinforcement beam, with each beam including holes at its opposite end for receiving a cable tie. A cable tie is provided at each corner so that when the cable ties are tightened the side and end panels converge to form a corner of the body board. A pair of cable ties also span the width of the center panel and maintain the side panels in their perpendicular orientation when the body board is assembled. The side panels define hand-hold cut-outs and flaps that allow medical personnel to grasp the body board, bearing against the side reinforcement beams.

The insert is made from a leak resistant material, and fits inside the casket body. The profile of the shipping configuration is not altered when the insert is in place. The lid fits both configurations of the casket body. Handholds on the casket are spaced off-center to better distribute the weight of the contents.

The plurality of modules are placed into a casket adjacent to each other and the overlapping member creates an overlap region that spans a portion of the two modules and any gap between the modules such that liquids impinging upon the overlap region will be impaired from progressing beneath the overlap region. The overlapping member may be formed integrally with one or more modules. Each module may further comprise a plurality of discrete isolated compartments for retention of liquids.

The second flange is coupled to the second end.

The core has first and second ends, an inner surface and an outer surface. The first flange, which attaches to the first end of the core, includes a first plurality of flexible fingers that extend axially inward the core adjacent to said inner surface proximate the first end. Likewise, the second flange, which attaches to the second end of the core, includes a second plurality of flexible fingers that extend axially inward the core adjacent to said inner surface proximate the second end. The locking ring urges the first plurality of flexible fingers to the inner surface proximate the first end.

Abstract: A center panel for use in a casket top includes a panel frame and a section of flexible material. The panel base includes a panel base and a plurality of folded-under tabs, the panel base having a first side and a second side. Each of the folded-under tabs is integrally formed with the panel base and is folded under a portion of the panel base, thereby defining at least a portion of a periphery of the panel base. Each of the folded-under tabs is furthermore affixed to the second side of the panel base. The section of flexible material substantially covers the first side of the panel base and is affixed to said folded-under tabs.
