  • Patent number: 6182434
Abstract: The process is carried out on a spinning system that has a driven spindle (13) and a balloon limiter (14) concentric with it, driven in the same direction as the spindle (13) an provided with an inner work surface (44). For the purpose of reaching the high operating speed, the yarn (P) entrained by the work surface (44) and running toward the tube (23) on the spindle (13) is first always given by the centrifugal process the shape of a rotating, open loop (48), from which the yarn (P) is subsequently drawn off and coiled directly onto the tube (23). In this connection, this rotating, open loop (48) can be radially delimited by a rotating or stationary limit ring (28).

  • Patent number: 4852340
Abstract: The invention solves the problem of ejecting impurities out of a cleaning aperture in the fiber separating device of an open-end rotor spinning unit, particularly when there are various contaminations of fibrous slivers and of different kinds of textile fibers being processed. For this purpose an air flow regulator is provided in the separating device in an air supply duct communicating with the cleaning aperture. According to the invention, the air flow regulator is provided with an air directing wall near the outlet of the air supply duct and thus directs air flow into the cleaning aperture toward the fiber opening cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4731987
Abstract: The invention relates to an open-end rotor spinning unit and particularly solves the problem of the relationship between a fiber defining stud of a separator, a fiber supply duct and a yarn take-off duct passing through the separator and the stud.According to the invention, there is established a dimensional relationship of the defining stud to the mean staple length of fibers, and the orientation of the supply duct at an acute angle to the front wall of a cylindrical projection partially engaging into the spinning rotor. In inner section of the peripheral wall of the defining stud is curved in the direction of a natural fiber flow trajectory into the direction of the spinning rotor rotation while the outer section is either in contact with or radially set back from the cylindrical wall of the projection at a distance of up to 4 millimeters from the edge of the wall.

  • Patent number: 4584833
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for emergency fiber supply to a spinning unit in an open-end spinning machine. According to the invention, a sensing unit controls an electromagnetic coupling and fiber supply device, such that a break in the yarn is rapidly detected and the fiber supply is immediately disengaged, even if the conventional thread breakage detector fails.A sensing unit is disposed in that portion of the wall of a cover that extends into the spinning rotor interior. It is adapted to respond to the excess accumulation of unspun fibers and/or an undue increase in temperature by disconnecting the electromagnetic fiber supply coupling via the thread breakage detector circuit to which it is connected. The sensing unit can be a pressure sensitive microswitch, a bimetallic relay, a thermistor, or a combination of these elements.

  • Patent number: 4534042
Abstract: Method of and apparatus for a continuous monitoring and analysis of spinning units operation in multiple unit open-end spinning machine. The invention permits the obtaining of reliable data about the operation of open-end spinning units in the machine, and of immediately processing them in the form of an analysis of the total performance of one or a plurality of machines. The active or inactive state of operation of the individual spinning unit is detected by a continuous monitoring of the spinning units at predetermined intervals consisting in emitting checking signals by a timing pulse generator of the monitor to those units. The signals thus obtained are used for analyzing the active state of the spinning units, the inactive state of the spinning units, the analysis of the active or inactive state of spinning units on each side of the machine, and an analysis of the production rate of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4499718
Abstract: Fiber separating device of an open-end spinning unit wherein the wall facing the fiber separating cylinder is provided with an impurity separating duct and with one or more air supply apertures. The air supply apertures are oriented symmetrically with respect to a plane substantially passing through the axis of the impurity separating duct and perpendicular to the axis of the fiber separating cylinder, the axes of said apertures including the same angles with the opposite walls of the impurity separating duct. The fiber separating device of the invention solves the problem of withdrawing impurities from fibrous materials supplied to the fiber separating device of open-end spinning unit, while reducing losses of the fibrous material.

  • Patent number: 4322942
Abstract: An open-end spinning method and an apparatus wherein a flow of discrete fibers is supplied to a fiber spreading element by which they are spread over the entire periphery of an inner fiber deposit surface of a drum where a fibrous layer is continuously created. Fibers are successively withdrawn from the fibrous layer by taking off the open end of yarn and rotating it about its axis, due to a twisting moment acting on the yarn, such twisting moment being created in a region beyond the drum axis. The yarn can be given an additional twist by causing its open end to revolve about the axis of the drum. The invention enables the attainment of a high degree of the so-called cyclic fiber doubling in the spinning process, a high productivity at a relative low peripheral velocity of the operating elements of the spinning device, and the possibility of manufacturing yarns of various parameters and characteristics in one and the same spinning unit.
