  • Patent number: 9717854
Abstract: An adapter for a syringe includes a base portion having an insertion hole and a flange portion extending laterally outwardly from the base portion. A longitudinal axis of the flange portion extends from a first distal end to an opposing second distal end. A first distance measured from a geometric center of the insertion hole to the first distal end of the flange portion is less than a second distance measured from the geometric center of the insertion hole to the second distal end. The first distance defines a first section of the flange portion and the second distance defines a second section of the flange portion. The first section has a cross-sectional shape that is one of at least slightly concave and at least slightly convex and the second section has a cross-sectional shape that is the other of at least slightly convex and at least slightly concave.

  • Patent number: 9567143
Abstract: A tamper-evident closure (110) for containers includes a closure shell (112) having a top surface (118) and a depending skirt (120). The top surface defines a first aperture (124) therethrough and a frangible portion (122). The skirt defines an open lower end (20a) for engaging a container. A tamper-evident tearable member (114) overlies the top surface of the closure shell and defines a second aperture (126) overlying the first aperture. A removable closure cap (116) overlies the top surface of the closure shell and the tearable member. The closure cap has an annular ring (132) projecting downwardly from an under-side of the closure cap and extending through the first and second apertures. The annular ring attaches to an underside of the frangible portion. At least partial removal of the closure cap from the top surface of the closure shell peels the frangible portion away from the top surface of the closure shell along the scoring, and tears the tamper-evident member.

  • Patent number: 9474865
Abstract: A needle shield includes a body extending along a longitudinal axis, and having a longitudinal channel configured to receive a syringe. The body has injection and protection positions. A first latching mechanism on the body is radially outwardly deflectable and includes a protuberance extending radially into the channel. A second latching mechanism disposed on the body and proximally of the first latching mechanism is radially outwardly deflectable and includes a tab at a proximal end thereof extending radially into the channel. The tab has a radially inwardly tapering portion toward a proximal edge of the tab oriented generally perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal axis. In the injection position, an annular ring on the syringe is located distally of the protuberance, and in the protection position, the proximal edge of the tab is in facing engagement with the annular ring to prevent proximal movement of the body on the syringe.

  • Patent number: 9468726
Abstract: A prefilled syringe for injecting medicament into a patient includes a barrel constructed of a polymeric material, a cannula and a hub. The barrel has a diameter, a longitudinal axis, a proximal end and a distal end. The cannula has a proximal end and a tip opposite the proximal end. The proximal end of the cannula is fixed to the distal end of the barrel. The cannula is positioned generally coaxially with the longitudinal axis. The hub is integrally formed with the distal end. The hub includes a rib section and a cap. The rib section has a generally cruciform cross-section taken along a rib plane. The rib plane is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cap has a generally U-shaped cross-section taken along a longitudinal plane. The longitudinal plane is generally parallel to the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 9468724
Abstract: A removal tool for a needle shield includes an attachment cavity having an interior wall extending along a length of the attachment cavity and accessible via a sidewall aperture. The interior wall is sized to receive and engage the needle shield. A pull ring is connected to and extends from a proximal end of the attachment cavity. The pull ring has an exterior wall extending along an outer circumference of the pull ring and an interior wall extending along an inner circumference of the pull ring. The inner circumference is sized to accommodate at least one finger of a user.

  • Patent number: 9415155
Abstract: A container for receiving or storing or carrying pistons for injectors, the container having a base plate and hollow cylindrical piston storage parts (the container being hereafter referred to as a piston nest). Each of the hollow cylindrical piston receiving parts is formed either by making it vertically penetrate through the basic plate, with one side of the base plate functioning as one opening end, and project from the other side or by making it vertically penetrate through the base plate and project from both sides of the base plate. Preferably, each piston receiving part has a swelled part where a part of the inner peripheral wall surface of the piston receiving part is swelled inward. The pistons for injectors are received in the piston receiving parts.
