Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for producing a stable, non-toxic, antimicrobial electrolyzed saline solution with a broad range of anti-infective and therapeutic applications. The resulting electrolyzed saline solution exhibits a marked lack of toxicity upon intravenous, aspired, oral or topical application in mammals for therapeutic applications providing a broad platform, including topical disinfection, antimicrobial application, wound treatment, oxidative stress reduction and enhancement of immune function to better detect malfunctioning cells.
Abstract: A fluid delivery system is used for the treatment of subcutaneous hernia sites and includes a bioabsorbable polymer fabric mesh layer and a bioabsorbable and permeable bladder attached to the upper side of the fabric mesh layer. Fluid from the bladder is diffused through pores communicating between the bladder and the fabric mesh layer so as to be dispersed to underlying tissue.
Abstract: The invention features methods and selenium-containing compositions for treating a neoplastic disease in a subject. In particular, the invention features methods for enhancing sensitivity of a tumor to cancer therapy by treating the tumor with an inorganic selenium-containing (iSe) compound and with a cancer therapy, particularly a cancer therapy that also affects the cellular redox status of a tumor cell (e.g., radiation).

Abstract: The invention relates to cellulosic moldings having very finely distributed zinc pigments after the dry-wet extrusion method. Cellulosic moldings formed in accordance with the inventive methods, compared to unmodified cellulose fibers, have a high degree of whiteness combined with greatly increased UV light absorption and a wash-resistant bactericidal effect, while at the same time having unrestricted textile processability. The cellulosic functional moldings produced according to the invention are particularly suited for use in textiles for clothing, technical textiles, recreation, medicine, and cosmetics.

Abstract: Fungicidal compositions comprising a paraffinic oil and 2-chloro-N-(4?-chloro[1,1?-biphenyl]-2-yl)-3-pyridinecarboxamide (boscalid) are provided. The fungicidal compositions may further comprise a pigment. The fungicidal compositions may be provided as oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions which may be used for controlling fungal disease, such as dollar spot or bentgrass dead spot or bermudagrass dead spot, in plants, such as turfgrasses. Methods of applying the fungicidal compositions are also provided.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an implantable composition for treating a damaged tissue and a method for inducing an in vivo migration of a cell for treatment to a damaged tissue region. The present invention treats the damaged tissue by inducing/promoting homing of a cell for tissue generation by implanting a biodegradable scaffold reacted with chemotactic factors (for example, IL-8 or MIP-3?) to a damaged location (for example, joint cartilage or skin). Thus, the composition of the present invention can not only be applied to the treatment of a damaged bone tissue, a joint cartilage, or a skin tissue more conveniently and efficiently compared to the conventional technology, but can also be used as a useful treatment supplement agent in cell treatment using allogeneic cell by enabling efficient utilization of cell resources for treatment, the cell resources which are high in scarcity.
