Abstract: A system includes a printer and a server system in which registration of print data to be printed by a printer is performed. The server system includes a reception unit that receives a first message, which is transmitted from a message app operating in a client terminal to request the registration of the print data, via a message app server, a first transmission unit that transmits, in response to the message, a URL of a registration form of the print data to the message app via the message app server, a registration unit that registers the print data, which is transmitted by a browser operating in the client terminal by using the registration form, and a second transmission unit that transmits a print code corresponding to the print data to the message app via the message app server. The printer then executes printing based on the registered print data.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus comprises a determination unit configured to determine whether or not an instruction for printing based on a print job is given by a remote operation, and a decision unit configured to decide one of apparatuses belonging to a local network, to which the information processing apparatus belongs, as a storage destination of the print job in accordance with a result of the determination by the determination unit.

Abstract: A printing system includes a printing device and a cartridge. The printing device includes a controller that controls the printing device to perform printing by executing a plurality of sequences, an error detector that detects an error that is likely to occur in one or more of the plurality of sequences, and a first storage unit in which information is recorded by the controller. The cartridge includes a cartridge storage unit in which information is recorded by the controller in a state in which the cartridge is attached to the printing device. The controller records, in the first storage unit, numbers and results of a plurality of sequences. When the error is detected, the controller records numbers of a predetermined number of sequences including the latest sequenced among the numbers of the sequences recorded in the first storage unit.

Abstract: A technique is provided with which it is possible to effectively consume a plurality of continuous base materials with different remaining amounts. A job list and a continuous paper list are prepared. The job list registers job attribute information that includes print length information that indicates the length of continuous paper necessary for printing of each print job. The continuous paper list registers continuous-base-material attribute information that includes paper remaining information that indicates a remaining length of each roll of continuous paper. Then, a job batch is generated in accordance with the continuous-paper attribute information and the job attribute information. The job batch defines one roll of continuous paper and a print job, the continuous paper being selected from among the continuous paper list, the print job being extracted from among the job list and printable on the selected continuous paper.

Abstract: Systems and methods relate generally to driverless printing. In a method, time expired files are hidden in a hot folder. The hot folder is configured to push a print job entry for the driverless printing for the time expired files. The hiding includes: renaming a first data file name to a second data file name; marking the second data file name as processing in association with operation of the hot folder; mapping a relationship between the first data file name and the second data file name; renaming a first reference file name to a second reference file name; marking the second reference file name as processing in association with operation of the hot folder; and mapping a relationship between the first reference file name and the second reference file name. The print job entry is created for the print job and is pushed for the time expired files.

Abstract: A method of splitting an image into a white layer and a color layer, comprising: providing an electronic application; receiving and loading, by the electronic application, an image file; the image file comprises a C color plane, a M color plane, a Y color plane, a K color plane, and a W color plane; splitting the image file to create a white layer and a color layer; erasing the K color plane; generating a CMY color plane; outputting the CMY color plane to a first storage location, to generate the color layer; copying, in the electronic application, the W color plane into the K color plane; erasing the C color plane, the M color plane, and the Y color plane to generate a W to K color plane; and outputting the W to K color plane to a second storage location, to generate the white layer.

Abstract: A present giving method performed by a processor includes the following. That is, selecting a print design that is given to a second user who is a receiver of the print design as a present according to operation by a first user who is a giver of the print design; and setting a hiding flag in design information of the print design according to the operation by the first user, wherein when the hiding flag is set, the selected print design is not displayed on a display in a state that the print design is visible when printing is performed on a print target included in the second user.

In the receiving, an instruction to transmit image information to an image forming apparatus is received from an information communication terminal. In the determining, whether or not the operator is in a site where the image forming apparatus is installed.
