Abstract: A system includes a printer and a server system in which registration of print data to be printed by a printer is performed. The server system includes a reception unit that receives a first message, which is transmitted from a message app operating in a client terminal to request the registration of the print data, via a message app server, a first transmission unit that transmits, in response to the message, a URL of a registration form of the print data to the message app via the message app server, a registration unit that registers the print data, which is transmitted by a browser operating in the client terminal by using the registration form, and a second transmission unit that transmits a print code corresponding to the print data to the message app via the message app server. The printer then executes printing based on the registered print data.

Abstract: A technique is provided with which it is possible to effectively consume a plurality of continuous base materials with different remaining amounts. A job list and a continuous paper list are prepared. The job list registers job attribute information that includes print length information that indicates the length of continuous paper necessary for printing of each print job. The continuous paper list registers continuous-base-material attribute information that includes paper remaining information that indicates a remaining length of each roll of continuous paper. Then, a job batch is generated in accordance with the continuous-paper attribute information and the job attribute information. The job batch defines one roll of continuous paper and a print job, the continuous paper being selected from among the continuous paper list, the print job being extracted from among the job list and printable on the selected continuous paper.

Abstract: An image forming system includes a plurality of image forming apparatuses and a server. The server is connected to the image forming apparatuses in a communicable manner. The server receives data indicating a numerical value of a common item from each of the image forming apparatuses, calculates a median of the data, and specifies an abnormal image forming apparatus from among the image forming apparatuses that has sent a numeric value of the common item that deviates the most from the median.
Abstract: An image information transmission method includes receiving, determining, requesting, causing, and cancelling. In the receiving, an instruction to transmit image information to an image forming apparatus is received from an information communication terminal. In the determining, information relating to a location of an operator of the information communication terminal that is stored in storage is referenced upon execution of the receiving. In the determining, whether or not the operator is in a site where the image forming apparatus is installed. In the requesting, when the operator is not in the site where the image forming apparatus is installed, the information communication terminal requests the operator to determine whether to transmit the image information to the image forming apparatus.
Abstract: A printer may include a memory configured to store remaining amount-related information related to a remaining amount of color material in a single-purpose color material cartridge mounted on the printer. The printer may send first printer information to a server in a case where the single-purpose color material cartridge is mounted on the printer, and send second printer information to the server in a case where the general-purpose color material cartridge is mounted on the printer. The server may determine whether, regardless of which of the first printer information and the second printer information has been received from the printer, the remaining amount-related information included in the received first printer information or the received second printer information satisfies a predetermined condition, and execute a shipping process for shipping a new single-purpose color material cartridge in a case where the predetermined condition is satisfied.
Abstract: Upon receiving a resumption notification from a system controller, a printer driver determines whether a power supply to a printer apparatus has stopped/resumed after a previous transition instruction to a sleep state was transmitted to the printer apparatus. If stop/resumption is not performed, an initialization negotiation processing performed to the printer apparatus when stop/resumption is not performed.

Abstract: A printer, capable of appropriately extending an existing replacement recommendation time of a component determined based on a life prescribed for the component, includes: a time determination unit (timer), a comparison examination unit (comparator), and a notification unit (notifier). The timer determines a time at which replacement of a component is recommended based on tendency information indicating a deterioration tendency of the component with respect to an operation status. The tendency information is generated from collection and storage of information on the operation status collected from a plurality of printers and information on a degree of deterioration at a disposal time of the component. The comparator compares a time output by the time determination unit with a predetermined life of the component, and examines whether to perform recommendation for component replacement.
Abstract: A communication apparatus can perform an appropriate process in response to a job notification received from a server. The communication apparatus sets an operation mode to a first mode. The first mode is a mode to receive a job notification from a server using a connection established for server-push communication between the communication apparatus and the server.
