  • Patent number: 6044759
Abstract: A registration system for aligning a printing screen frame with an image platform includes a plurality of arms, rotatably secured to a lower surface of the image platform. The rotatable arms have retractable registration elements mounted on the outer ends thereof, and have inner ends which are mounted so as to be translated outwardly from and towards the lower surface of the image platform upon rotation of the arms, between retracted and registration positions. In the registration position, the registration elements are aligned with and cooperate with the printing screen frame to accurately align the printing screen frame over the image platform.

  • Patent number: 6038969
Abstract: A tensioning frame (1) for stencils (9) formed of metal foils or plastic films, especially for stencil printing, provided at their margins (8) with perforations (10) for tensioning. The frame includes a tensioning device operated by a pressure medium for driving tensioning bars (5) that carry hooking pins (6) that engage the perforations of the stencil. The tensioning device is formed by an elastically deformable tensioning tube (4) disposed in a frame profile (2) and uniformly supplied with a pressure medium. The tensioning bars lie with the full length of their front sides in contact with the tensioning tube and with their back sides resting against fulcrum nubs (17) which in turn are supported against an extrusion (3) which closes the frame profile. The tensioning bars can be pivoted by inflating and expanding the tensioning tubes to stretch the stencil over a bridge (16) on the frame.

  • Patent number: 6027266
Abstract: An improved ribbon cassette is provided for a receipt printer of the impact printing type. The ribbon cassette has two raised areas disposed on the distal ends of the ribbon presenting arms, about the print area defining the ribbon window. These raised areas act as pressure bumps or spring-like retaining pads that bias the paper against the platen. In accomplishing the bias, a paper bubble commonly formed in the ribbon window area is substantially reduced or eliminated. This has the effect of reducing the noise generated by the impact wires of the print head striking the paper.

  • Patent number: 6022157
Abstract: The present invention relates to a key structure of a keyboard for easy grease injection. The key structure comprises a top cover installed with a supporting structure, a key cap, and a link bar. The supporting structure comprises two hooks at two sides. Each hook comprises a plate structure on its top portion and a horizontal sliding slot below the plate structure. The key cap comprises two clamps installed on a bottom side of the key cap. The link bar comprises two upper ends installed in the two clamps, and two lower ends installed in the horizontal sliding slots. Each of the plate structures comprises an injection hole. The injection hole is positioned so that grease can be injected into the horizontal sliding slot below the plate structure through the injection hole so as to reduce the friction between one lower end of the link bar and the horizontal sliding slot of the hook when the lower end of the link bar slides in the horizontal sliding slot.

  • Patent number: 6019038
Abstract: An inking roller has a pair of journals coaxially coupled to its opposite ends, the journals being supported by frame means for both rotation and axial reciprocation with the roller. The journals are detachable from the roller by being moved axially away therefrom, as when the roller becomes worn or flawed and needs replacement. A pair of guide rails are removably mounted to the frame means so as to extend in parallel spaced relationship to each other. On being freed from the journals, the roller rests on the guide rails for rolling thereon between a mount/dismount position, where the roller is mounted to and dismounted from the frame means via the journals, and a load/unload position where the roller is loaded into and unloaded from the press. A drive lever coupled to one of the journals to impart linear reciprocation to the roller is deprived of its fulcrum to permit that journal to travel axially away from the roller for disconnection.

  • Patent number: 6016745
Abstract: An improvement is provided for an embossing machine of the type having a rotating dual die character wheel assembly. The die character wheels are mounted independently from their outer surfaces within the embossing machine so that a completely unobstructed region exists between the character wheels. This allows a workpiece to be marked to pass unimpeded through the region so that the entire workpiece is capable of being marked. Pinion gears are provided at the outer periphery of the character wheels which engage ring gears mounted on the character wheels whereby the character wheels are rotated simultaneously.
